Congratulations to @bjthomas the random winner of this months challenge.

Oh, the Places You'll Go!

Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You're off to Great Places!
You're off and away!

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.
You're on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who'll decide where to go.

~Dr. Seuss

Carol/Iowan here with Lynn's June challenge. It’s that time of the year, the time to be off and away. Dr. Seuss reminds us that we can take any direction we choose and, with a map in hand, we have a better chance of reaching our destination. Maps, as well as being informational, make great accents on our layouts. I love Lynn’s recent travel kit, Mapped. As well as having fun travel accents, it incorporates a variety of fun and useful maps.

For this month’s challenge we want you to add a map to your layout. You can use one of Lynn’s maps such as background papers, elements, or brushes or you may use a map of your own.

Lynn has a special surprise for you. Her Mapped Collection (and the component parts) plus "Hit the Road", Adventure Calls", and "Explorer pocket bits" are all on sale this month.

Here are some pages that feature maps in different ways:

Lynn used a Map as an element in her fun page.

Here is my page using Lynn's Mapped Collection .. (I added a b/w layer adjustment to change it to Black & White for a different look)

Decided to go with a scan of a map of the county (at least I think that is the proper English word for it) where I live. The little lake you see to the right of the A in the title, is tha lake you see on the photo down to the right on the layout.

Made a layer above the map, and painted a little around the map with a soft brush, and then clipped a paper from the kit to that layer to create the background.

This is my home town:

What a GREAT challenge! And I just purchased Lynn's Mapped kit, without even knowing what this month's challenge was! I've also been dying to use the Dr. Seuss poem with my son's grad pictures, so this was absolutely perfect :)
