this week i re-watch all the movies and remember why i love it soooooooo much!!

so, tell me girls... do you love? hate? ignore? :giggle

I love Aragorn / Legolas / Gandalf ..... but my most favorite ever is Sam! Always make me thing about true friends... :beat

Huuuuuge LOTR geek over here :) I re-watch the movies often, and re-read the book about once a year.

I'm so excited for the new Hobbit movie! It's going to be ah-mazing.

Love, love, love with all my heart. And as a librarian, I believe I am about to blaspheme...I think the movies are actually better than the books in some respects. I hate how in the books, you get a character's whole story line from beginning to almost end and then you have to go back to the beginning to get another character's story. They're not inter-weaved. Not a fan of that.

I think these movies are brilliant. I mean, like, seriously.

Oh I agree with you on that! As much as I love the books they can be tedious to read. The movies take care of that by cutting out the unnecessary. And the writers did an amazing job of keeping in a lot of the original dialogue

And also Viggo Mortensen. My imagination reading the book cannot top watching Viggo Mortensen play Aragorn on a screen!!!

:D:D:D

I'm a big fan!!! Read all the books and once in a while I'll have a LOTR movie marathon, hehe

If you are a Lord of The Rings fan and a Lego fan, look what is coming this summer:

Can you believe Viggo was the little boy in that Harrison Ford movie Witness?

But *which set* of movies are you rewatching? The theater releases, or the extended versions? (that's a LOT of LotRs to watch!)

I LOVED the movies...but I've only seen them once. I definitely need to rewatch them. I have a hard time sitting and watching movies for a long period of time...but if I did it with Downton Abbey, I can certainly do it with these. My dh would LOVE having movie nights with me. He's a huge fan (as are my boys), so it would be a nice family thing to do!

I love watching all the behind-the-scenes stuff on the movies, as well. I think, between all 3 movies, there are like 12 DVD discs or something like that...

I love these movies so much and I can't wait for the Hobbit! :) There's so much to love about them - Sam, Gandalf and Gollum are probably my faves. I also just love everything that has to do with Rohan and the Battle of Helms Deep. Oh and Rivendell! I want to live there! I have the extra long DVDs and have watched all the extra features and commentaries over and over. I love how much passion and detail went into this project!

I try to watch them over at least once a year. My second disc of Return of the King won't play though, so after the first disc, I have to switch over to the theatrical release version, which I also own. LOL!!! I did see Fellowship on the big screen again when it was re-released last year. It was so cool to see on the big screen!

There's also just something about the way Viggo speaks elvish. It's so dreamy!

I am also a fan of the books - but I do agree some parts of the movies were handled better. I never liked how the 2nd book was split up into two distinct narratives. I haven't re-read them in a bit, but I think I will need to re-read the Hobbit before the movie comes out!

Have you all met Aidan Turner yet? He's one of the dwarves! LOVE him! :)
