Why in the world do my photo colors change when I upload them to the web after editing in PS?!

Anyway, I was inspired by a canvas I saw on Pinterest and wanted to give it a try. This is just a 5x7 canvas to hang near my desk area. And it's a really pretty turquoise.

That is very cool!!

(and I have no idea about the color thing! it still is a pretty blue to me :) )

oh that is COOL! I've seen some of those on pinterest. Now, I *really* need to make one. As for the color change, when you export for web, what quality are you saving it at? Sometimes compressing it way down can impact the color.

I'm pretty sure I've pinned that ;) I love how yours turned out!

Laura, I wasn't even saving for web. I just saved as a regular jpg. So I went back and saved for web - the color is much more true.

And here's the link to the one I was inspired by: http://www.staciedwardsblog.ca/2011/05/easy-diy-art.html

Eventually I'll make a set of 4 like that, but I wanted to do a practice one first. And mine won't be white - military housing walls are white, I need to liven them up with color!

Ohhhhh!!! That's awesome! I love artsy stuff like that! Wish I even knew where to start on how to make projects like this one! :)

Renee, it was easy! I didn't gesso the canvas because I wanted the texture to show through. So I just painted the canvas and letters with 2 coats of acrylic paint (I used one that was a step higher than Folk Art. I found it in the student section of the paint supplies at Michael's) and then super glued the letters on. I think I could paint a gloss Mod Podge over it if I wanted it to shine.
