Look what followed us home yesterday!

It doesn't surprise me if he is having accidents if he has never been trained. The good news is that he is going to go get you (go to your bedroom) when he needs to go. That means he is very smart and knows he needs to go and it's trying to tell you. Seriously that is good news.

Oh, he's a scary smart puppy, Dalis. One of the smartest I think I've seen. He got his shots & a uh, fecal test done earlier this morning and was NOT happy about it. Poor little guy.

We've named him Baxter.

Oh what a cutie! He looks so happy, too. So sweet of you to take him in!

sooo cute!!!!!! lucky you can keep him is ownre doesn't show up...my daughter and her bioyfriend saved a puppy that was abandoned one night, we bath him, gave hom food and had himn for two days but unfortunately had to give him to the RSPCA...we live in an appartment and I am disbled, most of the time bed bound...my daughter....is a teenager..enough said LOL

Celest, you know a puppy is beyond cute & adorable when your kids can't stop repeating that fact, lol! The big hurdle was my husband: he so crushed when our dog Goldy died (2years ago almost exactly now) he refused to consider another dog in the house. It helped that Baxter the Puppy looks very much like his childhood dog Scruffy.

I have to go out and get him a crate-kennel this afternoon, I think. We really don't have a house set up for blocking a non house trained puppy in the kitchen. And I'm not comfortable tying him to the kitchen table leg!

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that, Cynthia/MrsPeel. The family Baxter actually followed home couldn't take him in because they're renters, too, and simply couldn't afford to keep him. :( Are there programs with therapy dogs/cats where you live? I know they exist here in the States. Or a friend with a friendly pet? I'm fortunate in that my teen daughter and my almost teen son are finally motivated to help out with a puppy. I think with Baxter they feel more a sense of "ownership"? I think? Or are more engaged, because a puppy needs a ton more care and watching than a grown dog.

I'll be posting more pics and pages once I get back into a routine with him around. :D
