OMG, I can't believe I *just did this*. I've been trying really hard not to hurt or kill the local lizards (I stepped on one accidentally once when I was moving our trash cans to the curbside...broke its jaw/skull).

Well, I did NOT expect one to get in the way of our heavy metal mesh front door. I broke its back and crushed its body! And I don't know what to do with it! It's still alive. :cry

oh wow...I'm not sure what I'd do. We end up with a lot of dead lizards here, but it's because my cats like to catch them. I've never had one just injured. :(

Well, what I ended up doing (after pacing around the house) was take two junk mail envelopes and move the poor little thing into the shade in our garden that's next to the door. Under a rose bush. It was horrible looking.

Oh no...such a bad feeling, huh?! We don't have those here, so I've never had to worry about it.

I've got a soft spot for the lizards around here for some reason. We never saw lizards when I was growing up, that might have something to do with it. I don't know what species they are. I wish I knew. I wouldn't call them *tame*, but they do let you get within a few feet of them if you move slowly.

What size are your local lizards? I've got this funny image in my head of a huge monitor lizard smushed in your door. :giggle

Awwwww
I don't have any issues like that in the UK thankfully!! I think I've only seen a real lizard once or twice in my life whilst on holiday abroad. I'd hate to step on one, like Kim they can't be small? lol

poor little guy :( we have loads of lizards here in South Carolina. most common are Green Anoles, Red Headed Skinks and Five Lined Skinks. they're all on the small side... usually between 4 to 8 inches. they're darling and so fun to watch, my boys just love'em.

Awwww! I had several lizards in my house when we lived in southern CA - I am not a fan of that, but I do like them if they're outside! In fact, we had a gecko trapped in our garage (it took us a while to figure out where the squeaking was coming from!) and we were able to rescue it. But most that we encountered, there and here in FL, are too skittish to let anyone get close.

Oh wow! Poor guy! And poor you, I'd be crying my eyes out!! I love lizards, but we don't have any here.
