“You only have to focus on the next best step”, is what I tell my girls. Because it’s easy to be paralysed by choices. And also to think back and wonder what might have been, had different choices been made.
Because it is thousands upon thousands of choices - big, small and middling - that make up our lives and determine where we end up.
Which is why there are a myriad of pages I could have made with the “Choose” Mixed Media kit by @Rachel Jefferies and myself.
It leans into that feeling of being at a crossroads, the quiet push and pull of decision-making, and sitting with your choices, past and present … but really can be used for any choices in life, big or small.
I used it for a photo of my Dad in his lab, at a crossroads that could have seen me grow up in Canada, or in the highlands of Scotland!
And for my decision to stay here (photographed at sunset on New Year's Eve at the end of a momentous year) rather than return to the United Kingdom:
I'm happy with the decision, even though I still wonder 'what if', because it led me to a place where I get to walk this darling every morning at dawn:
And I love this creative page by Roxana using lots of the fun elements from the kit:
Life really can come down to a roll of the dice at times, can't it?
Here are another couple of wonderful pages by Marilyn and Theresa:
And I love these heritage pages by Christa and Carol!
"Choose" kit,Here's the "Choose" kit, if you feel inspired
