Ok we havent done it for a while,so what have you read lately what are you reading now, whats on your to read list and what would you recomend or avoid

I just finished The five people you meet in heaven by Mitch Albom,Its a very easy quick read and i enjoyed it and would recommend it,Im now on to Before i die by Jenny Downham i only read the first chapter so cant really judge it yet but i seemed to have got into the story very quickly

I tried the soosie stackhouse but just couldnt get into it so will try again on a later date when im more focused

i won a box of books in the christmas raffle at my boy's day care centre, so i've been slowly working my way through those. I'm up to one of the last ones and it's a horror/ murder mystery called "you can't hide" it's awful and i don't normally read this stuff, but i can't put it down. i was reading it just as i went in for a general anaesthetic, and that all went a bit pear shaped! next time i think i'll stick to jane austen.

I'm currently reading King Arthur, they made a movie off of this book a couple years back with Keira Knightly, it's okay, but I think I might return it to the library and find something else. Also on my night-stand is The Kite Runner. I've read A Thousand Splendid Suns already and devoured it, loved every moment, so I'm looking forward the The Kite Runner since they are by the same author. I'm terrible with author names, so forgive me for not adding them here.

Mmm, let's see - I've been on a reading frenzy lately!

Best Friends Forever by Jennifer Wiener: Not bad - chick lit, so it was a pretty easy read. Nothing spectacular, but worth a read.
Intervention by Robin Cook: SO incredibly disappointed! I usually love Robin Cook, especially his series with Dr. Jack Stapleton, which this was, but this really wasn't up to par. The storylines didn't mesh, and the ending was just plain stupid.
Handle with Care by Jodi Picoult: Not a bad book, but it was way too similar to My Sister's Keeper for my taste. And I was really disappointed in the ending.
Daisy Chain by Mary DeMuth: This was a free book I downloaded for my Kindle - I see now they have it listed for $9.59. It was fine for free, but I wouldn't have paid almost $10 for it. And now I see it was book 1 in a 3-book series, and I feel like I need to read the others! Damn ...
Under the Dome by Stephen King: REALLY good, and I'm not a huge Stephen King fan. But this was a good read
I Know This Much is True by Wally Lamb: Another really good book. I like Wally Lamb, but this book was BIG and I was a little intimidated to start it. Definitely glad I did though!
Home Again by Kristen Hannah: Another chick lit, easy read, not a bad book

I just put a ton of books on my Amazon wish list. I will probably do Jodi Picoult's House Rules next.

Well, crap. I decided to go with Not My Daughter since I just read Handle with Care!

I just finihed Blue Smoke by Nora Roberts. I definitely recommend anything by Jodi Piccoult, she is awesome! As for what is on my list to read?? Too many things to count! :lol

Also on my night-stand is The Kite Runner. I've read A Thousand Splendid Suns already and devoured it, loved every moment, so I'm looking forward the The Kite Runner since they are by the same author. I'm terrible with author names, so forgive me for not adding them here.
A Thousand Splendid Suns was an amazing read. It was so easy to get lost in interaction of the two women and feel compassion for the tragedies they faced. I liked The Kite Runner too but I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as A Thousand Splendid Suns. Have you watched The Kite Runner movie? It stays pretty true to the book.

I finished Nights in Rodanthe, Nicholas Sparks, a little time ago. Now I am going to read the Freakonomics books as soon as I finish the one I am reading right now. I won't tell you which one is because you won't find it easily. lol
I love Nicholas Sparks, my favorite. It is so hard to find his books here. When I saw Dear John in the bookstore today I almost died.

Have you read any books from J.D.Robb?? It's NOra Roberts writing a series of "murder" books...just got 2 books of this series, but still don't know if they are cool...

I have so many books here to read...including A thousand splendid suns (Khaled Hosseini). This is one of the books that I started, but stopped...I thought it was so sad, maybe I wasn't read to read at that time of my life, but I'll def. give it another chance!

and the last book I've read is a chick-lit, Twenties girl, by Sophie Kinsella. It's a really cute history!

I have just read the first four Sookie Stackhouse books in about a week, so I'm no help to you;)

The only reason I didn't read any more was that the bookstore was closed yesterday - I will be getting the rest after work today:)

I :beat the Outlander series. I read books 1-6 last year and finished up Echo in the Bone in January. Echo in the Bone ends with so many loose ends to be tied up and it is going to be so hard to wait years for another book.

yep thats exactly what i wanted to say... i just finished the last one yesterday and i really really wish this women would write faster :flirty

I just read Nora Stockett's The Help and really loved it.

Last weekend I read The Girl who Played with Fire from Steig Larsson's Milennium series and thought it was interesting.

The Forgotten Garden and The Help are on my upcoming reads list. I've heard both are brilliant.

I read both of these and LOVED them. I also saw the movie, but I think I would've been lost had I not read the book. I got so much more out of the book (as always!)

My dh tried to read them, but he just couldn't get into them. He's much more of a sci-fi guy.

I'm just finishing the Sookie Stackhouse series. I think another one comes out next month. Before these, I was reading the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. Those were REALLY different for me!

I just finished Dear John... I liked it but it was too smooshy and predictable for me. :) I read Forgotten Garden at the beginning of the year and like that one. I also read Twenties Girl and really liked that one.

I just read Beautiful Lies by Lisa Unger about a month ago and like it too... pretty fast paced and kept me interested. I also just finished Testimony by Anita Shrieve... it was VERY similar to the style of Jodi Piccoult. Good read.

Next on my list as soon as I get my iPad on Friday is The Help. I don't have an eReader right now, so that will be my first and I want The Help to be the first book I read on there. I also want to read Water for Elephants. Oh and I have this crazy dream of reading the "Time Top 100 book of all time" list. I re-read Lord of Flies last month because of it. I'd forgotten how twisted that book was!

p.s. I just love these threads! I've gotten more books suggestions this way! :) Now if only I had more free time... who needs sleep, right?
