Let's Talk Movies...

...do you buy movies? if so, do you buy a DVD, a Blu Ray? or do you buy a digital copy?

We rarely ever buy movies any more...when we do we stick with plain old dvds...we don't even own a blu ray player.

We just do the digital versions or OnDemand through our cable box. But we're so many years behind on movies that we can usually get by with whatever is on HBO or Starz ... chances are we haven't seen it. Then I'll be all "I was watching the best movie the other night!" and the other person will say "I saw that movie two years ago."

Yup.

I'm totally cool like that.

nope. only for the kids (DVD). I personally don't have the attention span for entire movies. I prefer TV. turn it on in the background and then scrap. Yay for internet!

We usually buy DVDs of movie we really, really love now, like Pixar ones. I am really bad with staying on top of TV series episodes (plus I hate waiting for new eps every week) so I usually wait until the whole season is done and then buy boxed sets. :) So I usually can't follow any discussions on a current season :p

Since getting Netflix and Amazon Prime, we don't often buy new DVD/Blu-rays anymore. Well, maybe once a month? If it's a movie I don't think we'll watch again, it's DVD (it's cheaper than going to the movie theater and shelling out over $50 for tickets). If it's a movie that we think is worth it, we'll buy the Blu-ray, which usually also includes extras, a digital version, and a DVD version PLUS and sometimes special extras not in other editions. I bought the Target Blu-ray edition of The Avengers when it was on sale for $20. But like I said, that's not usual for me.

i used to buy movies ALL THE TIME - now i really only buy them for the kids (and then i am about 50/50 with buying them on dvd (not blueray bc they watch in the car) or digitally for the ipad. i will buy a movie for myself if i REALLY love it - but that's pretty rare these days (i can't think of anything i've bought for us in the last year?!) ... although i have bought some tv shows digitally (downton abbey, once upon a time ... ) to watch on my computer or on the ipad on plane rides or on the treadmill.

Yes we buy movies and I don't mind if it's DVD or Blu Ray but Gurt only wants Blu Ray. He is a sound technician in a theatre and loves his gadgets! Hence the new hard drive I got for my Birthday instead of the camera bag...LOL

We usually just check them out from the library now....We will buy kid movies and try to get the ones with everything in them...the DVD, blu ray and digital copy.

We have over 600 DVDs packed away that DH loaded on the computer so we can still watch them through the x-box and house network. I just didn't want the DVDs sitting out.

I rarely buy movies unless it's something the kids really want to watch over and over. But with Redbox being only a $1, It's just cheaper to rent them for a few days and then not have to store them. We also watch a lot on Netflix or just rent Blurays from the video store.

We really don't buy movies too often, but when we do they are Blu Ray. Typically, we watch them on dish and pick them up from Red Box.

We own about every freaking movie ever made thanks to my husband's movie addiction. We get the multi-box that comes with DVD, Blu Ray, and digital copy.

We usually buy movies for our kids and we will buy the box combo that has the DVD, Blu Ray, and digital copy. That way we can watch it on our tv, plus tv's in the car, and also our ipads. Apple's newApple TV has me very excited. I think we will just buy this and start buying a lot of our movies for the ipad.

We buy movies for the kids at Christmas, but that's about it. Sometimes they get one for their birthdays, but not often. :)

we used to buy movies all the time. but with redbox, well now we rarely do. but if i really really love the flick, i'll buy it.
and we do bluray. my husband swears by them, however i don't notice a difference. bwhahahahahaa
the last movie i bought? ummmmmmmm the avengers? maybe? and then i think it was the hunger games before that one.
we watch them on our wall using the projector. so much fun! i looooooove movie nights! <3

Mainly we only buy kid movies now, and those we get the blueray/dvd/digital combos. The kids get to hold on to the dvd, we hold on to the Blue Ray and if we plan on going on trips we load a few digital copies on our IPods for them to watch.
Our movies we mainly just order digital copies through Amazon and then download them to the Playstation or Kindle as we want to watch them.

We buy movies, haven't since our trip this summer cross country, but usually rent Red Box either DVD or BluRay.

I rarely buy movies - but I do like to buy Pixar movies or say The Muppets. I don't have a blu ray player, but I've been buying DVD + Blu Ray, because I figure it's a better investment if I do ever get a better player and only a few dollars more. I mostly watch stuff from Netflix, DVD or streaming.

Since Blue Ray came out that is what we have been buying. Its funny though, we have like 8 new movies and havent even watched any of them, they are still in the wrapper and sitting all pretty on the shelf. :)
