I am currently procrastinating putting away a bunch of laundry...my own, everyone else's is done. I think it is one of my least favorite chores. So I thought I'd pop in and ask...

Do you put away laundry as soon as it's done? If so, I want to be you lol
Does it sit in piles somewhere at your house...bedroom, laundry room?
Does everyone put away their own?
How about socks? Sorted as you go or sit in a basket like mine? lol

Yes, I put it away when it is done. I used to just bring the laundry basket up from the basement and sit it on a chair in the dining room to fold on the dining room table. Unless it was bath towels/underwear/socks, then I'd just pull from the basket when needed! When I remodeled, I lost the area that had the extra chairs. So now I actually fold the clothes in the basement, bring them up and put them away. I sometimes just put all the towels/underwear/socks in one of my large bath towels and carry it upstairs so I don't have to deal with the basket. I fold and put away right away.

Well, since it is just me, yes everyone puts away their own!

I put my clothes away right after the dryer buzzes. But before you think I'm awesome, I'm not good at other chores. :P

Oh! I reread your post. I only do laundry for myself and my husband. As each of my kids turned 12, I taught them how to use the washer and dryer and told them it was their responsibility. Why 12? Just because that's when my mom did the same. My three kids have differed in how well they do their laundry. Two of them procrastinate a long time; one does his frequently, though I don't think he puts it away promptly.

I do the socks last, but also right away after I've put away the other laundry. I bring the basket from the dryer up to my bedroom, so I'm folding/hanging and putting away one item at a time, one right after another. Usually listening to a podcast.

I fold my laundry in my living room so I end up putting it away sooner than later because friends come over and I don’t want underwear sitting out.

Does it sit in piles somewhere at your house...bedroom, laundry room?
When I don’t feel like folding it it sits in the dryer or in baskets in the laundry room.

Does everyone put away their own?
I fold it all and put it in baskets and take the baskets to rooms. I tell the kids that if I do their laundry the least they can do is put it away.

How about socks? Sorted as you go or sit in a basket like mine? lol
I sort the socks as I go and they are stored in lockers by the garage so sometimes I put them away and sometimes I make the kids do it.

I don't mind doing laundry but clean laundry dryer will sit in a basket for days or weeks before I put it away.. lol and I freaking hate matching socks..
And folding laundry.. ewww
I'm kinda lazy

I don't mind putting stuff in the washer/dryer, but I really hate putting it away.

Do you put away laundry as soon as it's done? Not usually, but things don't sit too long because we have enough laundry that it has to get moved along.
Does it sit in piles somewhere at your house...bedroom, laundry room? It either stays in the dryer or one of our five laundry baskets!
Does everyone put away their own? We are a family of 5 and that is the plan (minus, Tyler - age 6)! My middle son (17) is the worst with his laundry. Sometimes I break down and do his because I'm sick of looking at it.
How about socks? Sorted as you go or sit in a basket like mine? I try to match them immediately -- somehow there are still plenty of mysterious sock disappearances, lol.

I do my laundry and put it away as soon as it is done. It is only for me and hubby so it is not bad and I enjoy doing it as after all these years I have a system LOL ... socks are paired and put away.

(Ask me what I did when I lived at home growing up when I would do my laundry, I would leave it in the dryer the whole week and just grab out what I needed LOL I am so GLAD I grew out of that habit! LOL)

Do you put away laundry as soon as it's done? I hang/stack/fold my laundry as I pull it from the dryer. I normally do laundry on Friday nights ... it sits on top of the dryer until Saturday morning then I carry it upstairs and put it away.
Does it sit in piles somewhere at your house...bedroom, laundry room? Not usually.
Does everyone put away their own? I've always put everyone's away ... otherwise there would be baskets full of clothes in the bedrooms.
How about socks? Sorted as you go or sit in a basket like mine? I cheat and for the most part buy each person a certain style of sock so that makes sorting easy. Chase is hard on socks, so I usually replace all of his twice a year ... saves me from having to sort by "old/thin/stained socks and new/thick socks. He wears Nike "everyday" calf socks. His sister did buy him some crew socks for his b'day earlier this month, but they are different enough from his regular calf socks that it's easier to separate them as I pull them from the dryer.

Do you put away laundry as soon as it's done? Definitely not. We have two long tables in the laundry room where I fold laundry and stack it up. I like to be mostly caught up with laundry before I haul my clothes upstairs to put it away. I only put my own away. My hubby does his own. And my kids do their own laundry so I don't have to deal with that either. Yay!

Does it sit in piles somewhere at your house...bedroom, laundry room? Laundry room.

Does everyone put away their own? Oh see above. Yes, everyone does their own.

How about socks? Sorted as you go or sit in a basket like mine? lol I mate all of my own socks. I hate digging through a pile to get what I want in the morning. My hubby's socks go in their own laundry basket. He has WAY too many pairs of socks. The youngest refuses to mate his socks and doesn't even mate them when he gets dressed. He just grabs two socks and wear them. They are always different colors and sometimes different lengths. He's done this since middle school and now it's kinda his thing at school. I wonder if I've done a layout about this. I feel like I should.

I do laundry daily, so there's no room for dry stuff to hang about. I put mine and my husband's away, then constantly bug the teenagers until theirs finally gets put away.

Do you put away laundry as soon as it's done? I try but it doesn't always happen that way!
Does it sit in piles somewhere at your house If it's not done immediately it usually sits in a basket on/near my bed until I get to it - sometimes days and days later!
How about socks? Sort as I go but I do have the inevitable missing sock pile!

Do you put away laundry as soon as it's done? Yes, only the ironing waits.
Does it sit in piles somewhere at your house...bedroom, laundry room? Bedroom where the ironing happens.
Does everyone put away their own? Nope, it gets done for them.
How about socks? Sorted as you go or sit in a basket like mine? lol Sorted with the rest. Having only the three of us makes all of these tasks so much simpler than when there were 5.
