Laundry | Pad Patter 10/4

I am with @Amson, though my view isn't as impressive, just my backyard, fence, trees, grass, not quite a view, haha. I love hanging out the washing with the sunshine, the birds, the neighbour cats, the breeze, even the sound of traffic and sirens. It is my peaceful place during the day, away from the nagging children, lol!!

We don't have a dryer, so it is a must on sunny days to do at least one load of washing. I think the worst day was 5 loads in one day after almost two weeks of rain, yuck!! I was only able to do one shirt, pants and all the underwear for each of us every couple of days, it sucked!!!

I don't separate clothes. I separate clothes from towels and from sheets, but that is it, every thing just goes in together. I make use of wash bags for more delicate things, but everything goes in the washing machine. I couldn't be bothered to hand wash unless it is something extremely important or special.

As for how often I wash particular things, every few wears, unless of course they are really dirty. My jeans, well I only have one pair that fit me currently, the other days I wear tights, so I only wash those when I have to. And, the kids clothes only get worn once or twice at most, they are so freakin messy! Lol!!

I don't often have help, my little one loves putting the washing in the machine, but no one seems to be able to hang it out properly (too short or just can't figure it out) so things don't dry, sigh! And then folding is just toooooooo hard!

my kids haven't learnt that 10mins wear and you change your mind and put on a different shirt does not mean it goes in the dirty clothes hamper - i have deja vu often in the school holidays as i load the machine that i just washed that particular shirt! ( and it's a daily 1-2x day thing here, we got solar panels on the roof recently so clothes and dishwashers now run one after the other in the morning to use the 'free' energy - we dont really have space to hang more than 1-2 loads (i cant imagine doing 4 or 5 in a day - 3 and i'm having to be creative with the hanging! and we don't use the dryer unless it's been pouring for a few days - can't remember the last time that happened, maybe Jan or Feb??)

I don't really mind putting the laundry in the washer or dryer. It's the folding and putting away that I don't like so much. This time of year when we are on the run all day and all evening, most of my laundry gets done on the weekend. I do about 6 or 7 loads on Saturday and Sunday. I try to get a load in mid-week, but it doesn't happen very often. The 12 year old is good to help with it most of the time.
I separate a few things, like towels and clothes, but not much else. And there are a few things I can get away with wearing 2 or 3 times before it goes in the wash.

I do a few loads a week.. It is only the two of us and we are retired so it is fairly simple :) I remember the 5 or more loads though.. not fun!

I do it all in my house and wow, I thought we had a lot before the baby was born. Shows what I know!

I don't mind the washing part but folding it and putting it away is (almost) my least favourite household chore.

We're not on water restrictions at the moment but I am conscious of water use so we spent a fair bit on a water-wise washing machine.

I am not a huge do-laundry fan either ... since it's just hubs and I, I don't have to do laundry everyday - however; I do not wash our clothes together because his are dirty-dirty! LOL! I do a couple of loads every other day or so.

I usually wash my jeans or slacks after I wear them one time, but shirts I was about every 2 wears ... I have quite a few Ruby Ribbon camis that require washing after 2 wears (not sure why they don't say to wash them after every wear, but they don't).

I washing bedding every weekend and towels a few times a week.

I hang up a lot of clothes! Even hubby's T-shirts (because it's quicker and easier than folding them! LOL!). Sometimes it takes a few days for socks and unders to make it to the proper drawers ... Laundry rates right up there with doing dishes - yuck!

Thursday is laundry day. I'm pretty much a machine about it. Folded and put away before the timer rings for the next load.

I'm with bellbird in that my older daughter wears a lot of clothes. What gets me is that it isn't even tried on. . .it falls off her hanger into the laundry basket below because she yanked it off the hanger a bit to just looked at it. Just wait until she's out on her own doing laundry!

I don't mind the washing and drying...but the folding, pairing of socks, putting things away and hanging things up really makes me batty! And trying to find some place for lay flat to dry clothes can be a pain.

My 10 year old has recently started washing/drying her and her sister clothes, but I still have to help the littlest one put things away or she'll just wad everything into balls and throw in her dresser LOL

I'm a weird one. I like doing laundry. Ok, I like having it all clean and folded and put away. Nothing drives me crazier when the boys in my house leave their clean clothes on top of their dresser and not put away.
I dry a fair amount outside, but it's hard if it's windy. Because the wind is wicked and can blow all the clothes away! So, usually of the 4 loads, 1-2 ends up dried in the dryer, the others outside. I need a better clothesline.

Bart just doesn't wear clothes. Then there's no laundry.
