In love with places I've never been to

I like to laugh, it makes me happy. And over the years different things have made me laugh. My brother pretending the pool ladder was falling...and then pulling it over on himself accidently. (He was just fine, no harm, he was 2 feet off the ground). Same brother having "sword" fights using a pussy willow with a younger one, and hitting himself in the head, drawing blood. (Again, just he was just fine.) My sister stealing my mom's flipflops, then breaking them (Her feet were too big for them) and walking around Niagara Falls with one flip flop, and one bare foot until we noticed. Why? She didn't want to admit she broke my mom's flip flops. She ended up walking in socks for a bit until we could find a place that sold shoes. When I think about these and other stories, I can't help but laugh.

What is something that never fails to make you laugh?

My husband always makes me laugh. It usually ends up being something he's said or his facial expressions. And the more I laugh, the madder he gets. UNLESS he's TRYING to make me laugh, in which case my giggles make him try even more. And there are times when he get tickled about something along with me, and we end up clutching our stomachs and howling with laughter. I can't even really give you an example because it wouldn't be funny to anyone else.

I also laugh when someone trips or falls or does something else that just gets me going. On AFV, there was a guy in a red sweatsuit that comes out his back door, looking like he's all ready for exercise, and he attempts to climb up and over a picnic table. He ends up splattering and it still makes me feel giggly. In fact, I'll just share it with you. LOL

I love to laugh, too. All the grandkids, over the years, have done things to make me laugh. They used to dress up and do funny things and always wanted their pictures taken. Now that most of them are pretty grown up, they still love to send me funny memes.

Our doggies always make us laugh- especially our 'little' one Nelly- (even though she's the same size as our old girl and weighs in at 60lbs- we still call her the little one for some reason!) She's pure entertainment all the time- even when she's asleep- she snores funny or sleeps in a weird position. We got Nelly right when the pandemic began in March of 2020 and I thank God for her everyday- she has been our saving grace and made us laugh daily during a really weird, stressful time last 2 years!

Our kids at school had an early release today, so it was just us teachers/paras in the room and we did nothing but laugh (and a little work) but probably nothing I should share here :giggle. I am thankful that they always keep me laughing, otherwise I'd probably been curled up in the fetal position in the corner lol.
My dad was always the best at making me laugh, mainly just doing or saying inappropriate things to get a rise out of my mom :giggle

My dad, too. I've posted before about how much trouble Dad and my sisters and I got into every Sunday. Mom always sang in the choir and was up front (and sat high so she could watch us). We used to get in SO much trouble after the service because of our shenanigans.

Currently it is our little Zekey (Ezekiel). He is such a little guy- unlike his grandfather, father and big brother. They are big hunky guys...anyway, he has a little high pitched voice that is adorable (unless he squeals:faint2). Last weekend he was with us. I've been correcting his speech so that he can speak clearly. He was talking about something his "Mommy bought to me"(him) . I said "You mean your mommy bought for you." He looked at me sternly and said, "No, I am two!" :rollin:giggle:giggle

anything that involves playing with language

the most recent I've come across:

My husband. He's always trying to crack a joke...usually a bad dad joke. He's great at puns.

The things kids say. A few things I heard this week.

We were playing the alphabet game. Everyone had to name a food. You start with the letter A and go around and you have to remember the previous food. My 7 year old had H and she said, "I know one! Hasghetti!" We cracked up. She meant spaghetti.

Then we found a note on the calendar written by my 7 year old. It wasn't written on the date that our Christmas Skit is supposed to be. She wrote Chismas shit. (pardon my language but it was all innocent) We are still laughing about that one.

I'm kind of sad that my kids are almost out of the funny saying phase.

Funny cat videos are always good too.

Aw, poor guy! I love that he tries to make you laugh though! That's awesome!

How sweet! Kids do say the funniest things as they learn the language!

Snores funny? Like a funny noise? Or just randomly snores? Our pup sounds like he's running a race when sleeping and that makes me laugh.

Aw! How sweet! I love that you remember him teasing your mom. And yay for co-workers that make work more sane.

That's so awesome! I love that she knew exactly how to monitor you!

Aw, how sweet! I love that he knows for (four) is a number and he's only 2!

Those are entertaining! I love seeing language plays too.

It's so true! It's a fun time when they say funny things. I love the hasghetti!

I love to laugh, and it comes easily to me... my range starts with cat/dog videos and bad dad jokes all the way to in person comedians. :giggle It's fairly easy for me to crack a smile and laugh!

Oh, and I am also an accident laugh-er - I can't help but laugh if you fall...it's my natural reaction... though at the same time I am reaching down to help you up. I try to stifle those instances.

I make myself laugh more than I want to admit! (See.... I'm giggle at my own comment right now!)

I love laughing, but am woefully bad at it. My hubby on the other hand laughs at me all the time. Then he says he is laughing with me, I have to point out that I was not laughing. He has a ridiculous range of things he finds funny, from people being hurt, slapstick comedy, Dad jokes. He will even laugh uproariously at the end of a joke - whether he gets it or not. Once we explain it to him, we all laugh at him and call him boomer! (he is the only Baby Boomer in the family)
