Laptop scrappers -- how do you store your stuff?

My current laptop has a huge hard drive so I can keep everything on it. Unfortunately the screen became glitchy last month, the battery pack overheats, and now it's started crashing often. My replacement has arrived but the disk is too small. I'll be having to keep my files on an EHD. Fortunately both the laptop and EHD are light and the EHD is fairly small.
