I'm French and I can speak English and Japanese at a native level but sometimes I forget my French vocabulary 
I first got better at English (after years of only school education where I couldn't speak much lol) by going to London as an au-pair for about 8 months and then living in Japan got me good at Japanese of course. There is nothing better than going places!
I do have a bit of Korean that I tried to learn for my inlaws but I didn't try hard enough and it's still pretty basic. The grammar does ressemble Japanese so I can make short sentences easily but understanding my family is so hard. Oh well, my nieces and nephews mostly all understand my English so that will have to do
