Labor Day. Is it business as normal at your house? Do you have a long weekend?

Here, public school kids have it off. So all the kids are thrilled for their first long weekend from school!
A few of my cousins are getting last minute shopping in because school starts tomorrow.
We are all home, and plan on just chilling today. We'll go to the park tomorrow when everyone goes back to business!

It's been a quiet, long weekend. I went out to lunch with some friends on Saturday, got some housework/yard work done yesterday, and am slowly getting my life in order for today. Lots of chores to do today. I started a new job and I'm still wrapping my head around what I'm supposed to be doing. I think I can avoid shopping today. Hopefully I can. :)

It's mostly a normal day here, except my husband is home. I did some housework and later I'll be taking my daughter to choir practice.

Since the kids haven't started school yet and I'm a SAHM, it's business as usual. Well, except DH has the day off, so we went out for ice cream. :) Other than that, it's just a regular day. The weather is absolutely gorgeous, so maybe after dinner we'll have a water gun fight.

Gorgeous day, normal day for retirees. I had a friend visit in the am and then I had a hair cut and did some Target shopping. Now to read, maybe even outside! We did go out to dinner with friends for my birthday last night as I was on the Eastern Shore visiting my daughter and granddaughter Saturday, the actual day. Not a lot of different stuff.

My son and hubby have the day off work so they are putting in a new counter top at my son's house.
Just ordered pizza for dinner.

It's been an awesome long quiet weekend here. We had Friday off as well. We went to dinner with the whole family at my mom's yesterday evening and then my oldest, his gf, and my granddaughter came over to watch college football. We played cards while the game was on and had a great time!! Today I am doing a big bunch of nothing other than putting some laundry away and scrapping :)

We had a housefull late late late last night. So although hubs and I got up early, we had the most quiet morning, as the kids were in bed until almost 11am!
My hubs helped down at the church, so equipment rearranging.
I cleaned and the boys are in desert with neighborhood kids!
We are just nibbling left overs from the big party last night, and will have an early evening!

We had company all weekend until this morning. I had planned to do laundry but its been pouring with rain all day and we have no dryer here at the cabin. We also had leftovers for dinner - yay! no cooking! We're on the last week of our month long visit in Ontario and its been very busy with visitors coming and going. I'm looking forward to having a quiet week here, reading and scrapping!

Off work today so it has been a little different (actually have been off work since last Thursday). Did not do much today except got the pool ready to close up. Got to let the "closer stuff" circulate through the pool and then put the cover on it tomorrow.

Labor Day is usually BBQ's, friends, beach and last hurrah of summer and before school starts (Wednesday). I'm off tomorrow, so that will be a quiet day before school starts with sorting supplies, and just relaxing. This past weekend we hung out with friends, went to the shore to hang out with friends and family, and then had a beach day. Just got home, and it's nice to sit and relax!

We are usually at the lake house on lake Coeur D'alene- but we came home early due to nasty smoke. The smoke is even worse at home here in spokane though! You can actually see falling ash... ugh. So terrible! We have 74 active fires surrounding us & just socking us in with smoke. We could definitely use some rain!!!

We usually go to our house in Michigan, but since Clara has started high school she has had a football game to cheer at on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend each year. Saturday night she had a Quinceanera to attend as well. Alex worked, because that's what Alex does these days. He'll start his senior year of high school tomorrow... gulp! Clara wanted to go to Chinatown today, but apparently most of Chicago had the same idea... we circled forever and never found anywhere to park. We gave up and went somewhere else for lunch and a bit of shopping.

The kids and I ran around Saturday and Sunday, including going to the busiest fair I've ever been to in my life, so we just chilled at home today. We usually go to the beach on Labor Day but the winds/waves were really strong so we passed.

I finished half of my 2016 Countdown to Christmas album, my daughter worked on her spelling contract, and my son alternated between playing trucks, playing dinosaurs, snuggling up with me, and watching Youtube videos on the iPad. DH was gone most of the day visiting his son, and then we moved right into getting-ready-for-school mode after dinner like we would on any other weeknight.

We all had today off from school/work so it was a long, quiet weekend for us. The weather was TOO hot to be outside so we mostly just hung out inside. We did venture out today to get my son some sneakers and dry fit shirts so that he can start cross country tomorrow.

I'm really wanting some ice cream right now but I'm already in my jammies. :/

Rileigh was super happy for the long weekend too! She spent the night at her friends house on Friday and Saturday we had a mommy/daughter day. I'm excited for school to resume though!

It was business as usual until we had to take hubby to the ER and spend 4 hours there...I had to come home and shower to wash the cooties off LOL!! Thought he may have kidney stones, but all of the tests they ran didn't come back with anything so who knows...but he's in a lot of pain, more pain than I've ever seen him in before.

I didn't give myself the day off work today, so it was sort of a normal work day for me. :) Darren was off duty at the hospital, but that was entirely by coincidence since he isn't guaranteed to have normal holidays off. He hung out with me at home, worked a bit with me, and did a few projects that he's been wanting to do. All-in-all, it was a lovely, normal, low-key kind of day!

My brother arrived for a two day visit on Sunday morning. So lots of my time has been spent in the kitchen with food prep and clean up. I go off to work this a.m. and he will leave mid-morning. My schedule should be back to normal today. I am happy that he was able to visit, but I will also be happy to have my studio back again.

Timmi, I hope your DH is feeling better.
