Has anyone seen Kubo and the Two Strings?

We saw it a couple of weeks ago, and I keep thinking about it. It was one of the better movies for kids that I've seen. Kennedy was enthralled with it. Not only was it graphically beautiful, but I loved how they talked about personal and family stories and the theme of memory-keeping.

Anyone else?

The artistry looks beautiful!
Was it scary? My kids are young and when they saw the preview they got a little nervous that it would be too scary for them. Maybe I should just watch it on my own lol.

Kennedy has anxiety and is really freaked out about anything that seems like it might be scary. In fact, he freaks out during the previews and covers his ears/hides his face until we tell him it isn't a scary one and he gets weird at home with anything that even sounds like it has suspenseful music. He wasn't scared during the movie at all. There are a couple of spots where there are battles between a good character and an evil character, but he didn't freak out about it. So I don't know if that helps, @Tree City. But definitely watch it on your own too. :)

Thanks for the info! My 9yo is the easily-scared one and my younger child is a mystery: some stuff he loves and other times he freaks out. Example: we let them watch the beginning of Ghostbusters (original) and younger loved Slimer and just laughed but 9yo was like "WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN? OMG!" But other stuff terrifies him, which is why we didn't let them watch the whole movie.
anyway, maybe I'll Netflix it. That way I won't look like a sad lady watching a kids movie alone in the theater rotfl and I can let the kids watch it the next day. They seem to be better at home. Maybe cuz it's not so loud or big?

We had to decide, and saw Pete's Dragon instead. It's on our list to see still. Glad to hear you liked it! Munchkin loved the box trolls, and Shaun the Sheep, so we are hoping he'll like this one because of the animation.

Aww, our drive in has Pete's Dragon & Kubo as a double feature. I don't think my kids would like either one though. We'll definitely see Storks since a family friend is one of the voices. We're really excited!
