KMM's new book (sort of)

Did you see that Karen Marie Moning (re)released Into the Dreaming a few days ago. I guess there's some new material in it even though it's a re-release. I've never read it, so I grabbed it to see... I guess it's supposed to fall between the Highlander series and the Fever series.

no you don't have to. i didn't. each series stands alone. however, the highlander series is back story to some of the secondary characters in the fever series. it just gives you more insight into that group of characters, so maybe could add more depth to the story, but really not necessary.

I didn't even know about the highlander series when I started the fever series. I'm now on the last book, shadowfever. I definitely don't think it is necessary to read highlander first, but I'll be reading it soon anyway! I'm a big KMM fan now. I also didn't know about Into the Dreaming, Rebecca! There are just too many great books to read and not enough time, lol.

I pre ordered Into the Dreaming and will read it once I finish the last 50 shades books. I read Fever first and then read the Highlanders. I loved the Highlanders(especially around books 3 or 4...I think 4 starts with Drustan who appears in Shadowfever and 5 has his twin brother Dageus also in Shadowfever). After I read the Highlanders, I went back and kind of half reread Shadowfever and understood more about who each of the Highlanders were. But it is not necessary. They all can stand alone too. The Highlanders are fast reads and a little more romance novel with time travel and some seelie/unseelie thrown in.

The new Dani novel from the Fever series called Iced comes out in October

so far into the dreaming seems to be a compilation of a short story, a few author notes (which are pretty interesting, if you're into that kind of background info), and some rough drafts / rewrites of published books / etc. it's definitely filler publication in between the big guns. but since i bought it, i'll read it all. i'm def a fan of hers.

kim, i'm soooo geeked about iced to come out. i'm a bit nervous, though because in fever dani irritated the poop out of me... i'm a bit skeered about a whole dang trilogy centered on her. eep.

Haha Rebecca...she kind of annoyed me too...Hopefully it will all come togther...and after her 3 novels comes out then she is going back to writing more about Mac and Barrons again...

It's on my list for the week, even if only to get some KMM fix before October.

I saw that one too, but wasn't sure if it was worth the cost...so let us know what you think when you finish. And I totally agree about the Dani books. Not sure I can stand 3 books with her as the main character. She was very annoying in the Fever series. I want to hear about Christian! Is his story going to be in the trilogy or does he get his own series too?

I read the first story last night and it was a short story about Another Highlander named Aedan. It was not as indepth as her other Highlander stories, but a quick read. I am not sure the book is worth the cost though. Maybe borrow it from a library or friend if you can.

has anyone read this and the original? I have the original so I don't think I need this?

I also really liked the Highlander series. More fluff though :D

I did not even bother to reread the first draft of The Dark Highlander in this book. The reason it was changed was because it was not right for the character. So I figured I would just remember it the way it was supposed to be. The short story was ok but nothing worth spending the money on. And I loved the Highlanders. There is also some proposal for a book called Ghost of a Chance(I think) and I did not bother reading that either.

I just checked and it is not loanable on kindle.

OH wow I didn't know that she was making a Dani trilogy. I also found Dani pretty dang annoying and don't know that I'll want to read that much about her, but I suppose KMM can make it work, so I'll probably at least try it. I can't wait till she goes back to Mac and Barrons though!

How have I not noticed new books from her??? See what I miss by being away from TLP for a few months?!?! I would love more Barrons...

ya know, i love KMM's writing, but i would not recommend spending the $$ on Into the Dreaming. definitely not enough beef to it. I did enjoy the insights she shared, but would have really been fine with just borrowing this one.

and debra, i'm rereading fever series now... i'm on book 4... i think my favorite.
