... we made a visit to our son and DIL's this morning to spend a few hours with our grandkiddos - Harper will be 4 the end of the month and Greyson was 2 in June.

We walked to a "Casey's" store to get a "slushie" for the kiddos - about 4 blocks from their home. We took the double stroller, the kiddos walked to the store, but wanted to ride back so they could relax and enjoy their slushies.

About half way back to their house, Harper (who was sitting in the front of the stroller) said ... "Greyson must be sleeping, because he's not talking." I told her he was busy drinking his slushie and then I said "He's chillin' like a villain". She didn't miss a beat and said "Well, I'm chillin' like a buttercup."

I cannot even think of where she came up with that from - but it really did crack me up!!!

That is too cute! Kid sayings are the best!

When my youngest was about that age, the cat got in to his cereal bowl and he came running to me with the cat in his arms, freaked out, and said "Mom, Jeff got in the milk", I was like "ok.....", and he said "but mom, he can't have milk...he's black toast intolerant!!" Still makes me giggle. :giggle

I love the things kids come up with. I can't think of any of the great ones from DS right now. DD is going to have some great ones I'm sure. She's 2 now, the only thing that cracks me up currently is when she wants something from the "fresh later". (refrigerator)

I love the cute things kids say! Do document them! They are so fun to read later!
I still smile about "-store". No matter where we go, DS calls it the _store: drink store (convenience store); Gas Store (gas station); food store (grocery store); clothes store. Some make sense, some are a little off! Hamburger store is my favorite (In N'Out fast food).

Ha ha! I love these! I really do hope you're documenting these! These kinds of stories are my favorites to stumble on years later when I've forgotten them all!

:giggle I love reading these... brings back memories of my kids with some of the things they said... or how they said certain words!

These are the best stories to document! :D Especially since I can never remember them after a year or so!!! ;)

@Meredith78 my brother used to do that when he was 4! He was always saying 'actually, that's a crocodile/alligator because....' kids are so funny when they have no fear about correcting adults!

Love it!

When my son was first learning English after having no language for 5 years (he was adopted) and a little bit of ASL he would tell me he wanted a cow and pig sandwich. Cow and pig were easier for him to say than hamburger and bacon!

My daughter used to say lasterday for yesterday.

And I remember when my oldest was about 4 years old she was riding her bike and fell and took a look at her knees and said, "I don't have to worry because God will take care of all my knees!"

I did one last month to document some of the"toddler speak" that's always so adorable. I'll just need to remember to make more as time goes on and we get other cute phrases!

Love your page!! I ended up scrapping a photoless page - I should be doing that more often because often times I don't have photos - but those kiddos do say some dandy things!

OMG so cute! How has she been doing lately?
Thanks for asking Dalis - she has not had a seizure since December - and certainly praying they never rear their ugly head again!! She'll be 4 the end of this month so I'm surely hoping she's grown out of them ... can't believe she's 4 already either! LOL!

I love reading all of these cute stories! Makes me giggle sitting here at work!

I keep an file for each kiddo of -isms. The older ones are growing out of them, but they littles are just getting started. I have to get after my 9 year old when she corrects the 2 year old for things she says.....I want the 2 year old to say the things the cute/silly way for awhile longer, I know I will be out of this phase for good in a few years.

When my son turned 5, he came to me one day, totally serious, and said that "Now that I am 5 I don't have forehead anymore. I have a five-head."
