Keeping that Cold Away hints? | Pad Patter 11.14.2018

personal hygiene is the biggie - it makes so much difference if everyone washes their hands properly. Keeping the diet away from processed food, and drinks with artificial anythings as much as is practical and staying away from heavily polluted air are my other main tips.

My biggest sickness deterrent is to stay well rested. Easier said than done, but whenever my hubby gets a cold or I start to feel one coming on, I got to bed early and that usually helps a ton!

Got her Cold Killer Tea Recipe!

2 large lemons
1 large orange
1 Tbsp Turmeric
1 Large Piece of Raw Ginger root
1 Cup Honey

Thinly slice lemons & oranges & Place in a large bowl. Peel ginger root & either muddle or grate ginger into the bowl. Next add the turmeric & honey. Mash all well with potato masher.

Scoop spoonful into a cup & pour hot water over the top. Enjoy!

Garlic is a good natural antibiotic.
Also they say if you cut an onion in half and leave it lying open in your home it will help kill the flu bugs.

My 3 go to items:
Garlic (my kids will literally eat whole cloves)
Essential Oils (I'll diffuse or rub it on their feet)
Vitamin C (we'll put a little in some hot tea)

I haven't had to take my kids to the doc in forever for illness. It probably helps that we homeschool too.

Up your c vitamin intake.
Infusion of grated ginger root, simmered in water, honey added after straining the root away,my friend likes to add cinnamon too.
Edit; hot chocolate at bedtime... ( not for cold prevention, just for the "cosy-ness " of it..:whistle:yup

I have been quiet successful after I saw a BBC program in which they showed with some kind of ultra violet light the way the thing spreads from (especially) toddlers in a kinder garden.
A kid has a runny nose, a cold is coming soon full on for him/her, he or she sneezes on their hands or in the air but touch their faces which have "cold stuff" then touch some toys, other kids, hug the teacher or the teacher touches their hands or toys they touched, then she turns light off, the "stuff" passing onto everything she touches and so on with everyone else...they showed with a green highlighting how from one person to another, one person into objects, the "stuff" gets spread around.....
that wouldn't be enough for the next person who touches to get it....
what they say is that, after we did touch, if we touch our eyes or any point of possible entry to our own bodies, that will do it....
I try to keep away from Sarita when she has a cold, but I keep washing my hands and try reminding my self not to touch my eyes, nose or mouth..... that mostly works.
I used to take vitamin C powder , 1 tea spoon in half a glass of water, dissolved, and that kept me at bay for years as prevention!
