Welcome to the June Art Journal Challenge. We made it half way through the year! Woo Hoo!



For this month, I would like us to explore some White Space Art Journaling. Of course, we will be adding some messiness to our layout too. For June, I would like you to do the following:



Challenge:

  • Use only a plain Background Paper
  • Add some stamps, paint, gesso and/or mask (you may chose multiple of these) as your anchor to your main subject
  • Your main subject should be over the “messy” anchoring you’ve done (I chose to use a photo, but you do not have to use a photo…your main subject could be a word, or a sketch etc.)
  • Use one word to explain your layout and please make that word with an ALPHA - - not a font or a word art
  • Finally, finish off your layout with whatever else you need, but make sure that what you use remains on your main cluster of the items above…remember…white space surrounding the focus!

June Art Journal Muse Challenge
Challenge requirements:

  • Follow the Challenge rules stated above
  • You may create multiple entries
  • Your creation can be all digital or hybrid.
  • As always, you need to include TLP products on your page and meet the requirements to post in the TLP gallery - Layouts must contain at least 50% TLP products; Uploads must be less than 250k; List all credits; no off-site linking allowed.
  • Please post your layout in the Member's gallery, and tag with the "art journaling" tag prior to Midnight EST 30 June 2026 and then post it in this thread. (Directions below on adding a layout to this thread.)
We will draw a winner at the beginning of next month for a coupon!! Every page you create is equal to one entry in the random draw. So, if you create 1 page you are entered once, if you create 2 pages you are entered 2 times and so on. (Maximum of four entries.)

Now go have fun and I can't wait to see what y'all create.

How to add a linked layout to this thread:

Once you have uploaded your layout to the gallery, scroll down to the bottom of the page. Under "Share this Media" you will see the text "Copy GALLERY BB code". Right below that you will see two rectangle boxes with text to the right. Click the two rectangles and that will copy the text to your clipboard. You can then paste the text in to this thread.

You pushed it to the edge :hummm but I think it is fine. You are centrally located and anchored from behind and have the single word title and I did say you could add whatever needed to finish it off!!

:giggle Yay! But this was fun! I usually find art journaling very hard- thought I would practice a bit. I might do another one before the deadline! And try to stick even better to the rules :lol
