This week, we are going to continue to explore the July theme of the sea. But I am taking our sea waters in a little different direction.

Week 3 - The Sea: Angry Waters

Let's face it, when it comes to the sea we tend to think of calm waves, warm sandy beaches and cute dolphins playing in the water. But having lived in South Florida for more than 20 years, I can confirm that the waters aren't always nice to us. Hurricanes reap destruction. Same for typhoons. Sharks attack. Jelly fish sting. Rip tides kill. Algae destroys livelihoods. Some times the sea is angry.

This week is your chance to work out some anger. Express your more destructive tendencies. Maybe you have some sorrow to work through, this week's challenge is your chance.

Challenge for Week 3
  • For this week's challenge use one quarter of your divided page to focus on angry waters. (You can also just make one page about angry waters. Go wherever the muse takes you.)
  • You can create any type of page ie. clean and simple, artsy, pocket style etc, but you must create a collage. Your page can be all digital or hybrid. Wherever the inspiration takes you as long as you include TLP products on your page.
  • Please post your layout to the Art Journaling Gallery HERE prior to Midnight EST August 1, 2023 and then post it in this thread by copying the code (at the right of your gallery image) from the box under "Share BB Code".
We will draw a winner at the beginning of next month for a coupon!! Every layout you create is equal to one entry in the random draw. So if you create 1 layout you are entered once, if you create 4 layouts you are entered 4 times.

You can use any products in The Lilypad store or retired products from current Lilypad designers, (just make sure you follow our gallery guidelines).

I hope y'all are excited to get started. I can't wait to see what y'all create.

Ohhh, I am loving the layouts for week 3 so far, simply stunning!!

Here is my spin on week 3, along the lines of 'getting shipwrecked' in a storm can either make us stronger or totally torn apart........ we always have a choice in which direction we will turn.

thank you Cindy for week 3 prompts I added a photo from Nazare in Portugal famous for it's extreme high waves.
I didn't see them when i was there, also I used OWA_Aquamaris

Y'all are creating amazing projects. (Gonna have to admit that the divided pages are always some of my favs.)
 
I found the quote I have used on the internet and felt it applied to the tough times my husband and I went through last year when our home was flooded etc. I do not think it made us "great people" but it definitely made us stronger.

I have used an image of a painting of Grace Darling because of her heroism in rough seas.
