We don't do it often (because cleaning it is a pain) but we pulled out the big electric juicer that sits in its box most of the year & there's some fruity & juicy goodness in the new August BYOC so today's fast five is inspired by that!

1. Do you drink juice or smoothies? (At all, sometimes, seasonally, daily? etc)
2. Do you have a favourite flavour?
3. Do you often buy it as bottled long life, fresh squeezed, from a juice bar or juice things at home yourself ?
4. Have you ever juiced or tried anything from a juice bar or while on a vacation that you'd consider 'strange'? (not your typical orange & apple etc)
5. How do you feel about 'green' juice? Wheat grass, spinach, kale etc

I'll pop back with my answers a little later

1. Do you drink juice or smoothies? (At all, sometimes, seasonally, daily? etc) I don't usually have juice in the house unless it's a holiday and I'm having mimosas. I may have orange juice if I'm out to a breakfast or brunch buffet. I occasionally make a protein shake for myself with banana, strawberries, and mango.
2. Do you have a favourite flavour? Juice > orange, sometimes tomato. Protein shake > flavor listed above or any two of those fruits in combination.
3. Do you often buy it as bottled long life, fresh squeezed, from a juice bar or juice things at home yourself? I only buy juice if needed for a recipe or as described in answer #1 in which case it's either in a bottle or a carton.
4. Have you ever juiced or tried anything from a juice bar or while on a vacation that you'd consider 'strange'? (not your typical orange & apple etc) I think I've had either guava or papaya juice when vacationing in the Caribbean.
5. How do you feel about 'green' juice? Wheat grass, spinach, kale etc I like spinach salads, I will eat spinach cooked, but the idea of drinking green juice...

1. Do you drink juice or smoothies? (At all, sometimes, seasonally, daily? etc) I like juice but don’t drink it all that often because of sugar content. I buy orange juice if I am sick. As for smoothies, I LOVE them! We had a smoothie shop we loved back in Georgia, but I really haven’t seen any in Pennsylvania. I make smoothies fairly regularly at home.
2. Do you have a favourite flavor? For juice that would be guava pineapple. For a smoothie, strawberry.
3. Do you often buy it as bottled long life, fresh squeezed, from a juice bar or juice things at home yourself ? For juice, I always buy it bottled. For smoothies, I make at home or buy from a smoothie shop.
4. Have you ever juiced or tried anything from a juice bar or while on a vacation that you'd consider'strange'? (not your typical orange & apple etc) I really cannot think of anything too strange... guava pineapple- my favorite juice- is probably the strangest and I don’t think it is all that weird
5. How do you feel about 'green'juice? Wheat grass, spinach, kale etc I have not tried it

1. Do you drink juice or smoothies? (At all, sometimes, seasonally, daily? etc) I don't drink juice. I do make protein smoothies occasionally.
2. Do you have a favourite flavor? I do love fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice...but I never buy it and rarely drink it. If I'm going to make a smoothie I like peanut butter...nothing to do with juice!
3. Do you often buy it as bottled long life, fresh squeezed, from a juice bar or juice things at home yourself ? I do buy orange juice for my kids.
4. Have you ever juiced or tried anything from a juice bar or while on a vacation that you'd consider'strange'? (not your typical orange & apple etc) No.
5. How do you feel about 'green'juice? Wheat grass, spinach, kale etc I I have made smoothies with kale or spinach.

1. Do you drink juice or smoothies? (At all, sometimes, seasonally, daily? etc) I have a smoothie every morning for breakfast. It's a mix of things that really help me to start off the day. It started off as a "peach cobbler" smoothie with coconut water & rice milk, a handful of gluten-free oats, a generous spoonful of chia seeds, half a frozen banana and handful of frozen peaches. I've had to make adjustments to it by adding in a large handful of fresh spinach due to the need for getting more calcium in my diet, which has turned it a rather bright green.
2. Do you have a favourite flavour? Nothing specific, just what may sound good to me at the time. I am partial to berries (boysenberry if I can find it), peaches and lemon.
3. Do you often buy it as bottled long life, fresh squeezed, from a juice bar or juice things at home yourself? I really don't drink many juices, but if I do I make them into slushies as a cool drink on a hot summer day. Lemonade and peach work well. I sometimes will purchase the Naked Juice Boosted Green Smoothie if I can't find anything else that I can eat.
4. Have you ever juiced or tried anything from a juice bar or while on a vacation that you'd consider 'strange'? (not your typical orange & apple etc). I had a dragon fruit juice at a Joe and the Juice at the Reykjavik airport last summer. I can't remember all what was in it, but although it was a bit tasty there were too many seeds in it for my preference. And I didn't think it was worth the $9.00 price tag! EEk!
5. How do you feel about 'green' juice? Wheat grass, spinach, kale etc. It's not my favorite, but if it's prepared well it can be quite tasty (like the Naked brand juices).

1. Do you drink juice or smoothies? (At all, sometimes, seasonally, daily? etc) I don't drink either all that often, a couple of times a month maybe...
2. Do you have a favourite flavour? Tomato juice is my favorite, but I also like orange juice and pineapple juice. Even better if the tomato juice is part of a great Bloody Mary and the orange or pineapple juice is part of a wonderful mimosa :giggle
3. Do you often buy it as bottled long life, fresh squeezed, from a juice bar or juice things at home yourself ? I usually just buy it bottled from the store, but occasionally have a smoothie out somewhere
4. Have you ever juiced or tried anything from a juice bar or while on a vacation that you'd consider 'strange'? (not your typical orange & apple etc) Can't think of anything "strange"
5. How do you feel about 'green' juice? Wheat grass, spinach, kale etc I'm not against it and like all of them, but it's not my preference

1. Do you drink juice or smoothies? (At all, sometimes, seasonally, daily? etc)
Occasionally smoothies. Usually buy Florida not from concentrate juice - OJ for breakfast

2. Do you have a favourite flavour?
I love anything with pineapple, mango, banana, strawberries, mixed berry blend, etc. for smoothies. I love white grape juice and I mix it into diet ginger ale for a refreshing spritzer.

3. Do you often buy it as bottled long life, fresh squeezed, from a juice bar or juice things at home yourself ?
Juices usually always bought from store, but not from concentrate for OJ. Usually Florida's Natural or Tropicana. For other juice (white grape or red grape) we stick with Welch's.

4. Have you ever juiced or tried anything from a juice bar or while on a vacation that you'd consider 'strange'? (not your typical orange & apple etc)
No, I'm not that adventurous - and most of those drinks are expensive to buy just to throw away, you know?

5. How do you feel about 'green' juice? Wheat grass, spinach, kale etc
I don't mind it if I don't taste the "greens"

1. Do you drink juice or smoothies? (At all, sometimes, seasonally, daily? etc) I love orange juice but I don't drink it too often, which is odd becasue I live in Florida. It's probably because I'm both too picky (cheap orange juice is so gross, and even the pricey stuff doesn't taste anywhere near as good as fresh squeezed) and as much as I love it, it sure doesn't love me. As for smoothies, no, not really. I don't make them at home and when I'm out there are other things I want more.

2. Do you have a favourite flavour? Only juice I can abide is orange. I really wish I could like apple or grape but nope. Which is probably a good thing because IBS sucks.

3. Do you often buy it as bottled long life, fresh squeezed, from a juice bar or juice things at home yourself ? When I absolutely have to have some I'll buy cold off the refrigerated shelf, but I really do prefer fresh-squeezed. I just wish I still had a good source for local oranges.

4. Have you ever juiced or tried anything from a juice bar or while on a vacation that you'd consider 'strange'? (not your typical orange & apple etc) I think I've tried most of the tropical fruits (again, region maybe plays a lot into that), but I don't really consider any fruit juice strange.

5. How do you feel about 'green' juice? Wheat grass, spinach, kale etc Ew. Ew ew ew. Just the idea, of both the taste and the after effect.

1. Do you drink juice or smoothies? (At all, sometimes, seasonally, daily? etc) We have a Magic Bullet and we get it out once in awhile and make smoothies and milk shakes.
2. Do you have a favourite flavour? Mango is my favorite flavor
3. Do you often buy it as bottled long life, fresh squeezed, from a juice bar or juice things at home yourself ? I like to make my own. The bottled drinks don't always agree with me.
4. Have you ever juiced or tried anything from a juice bar or while on a vacation that you'd consider 'strange'? (not your typical orange & apple etc) No
5. How do you feel about 'green' juice? Wheat grass, spinach, kale etc I make green smoothies sometimes and we really like them. It's a lot of work - prepping - and I make several days' worth at a time and use all fresh ingredients. We don't like kale, but I use baby spinach.

1. Do you drink juice or smoothies? (At all, sometimes, seasonally, daily? etc)
apart from water & milk, it's all the kids drink (we don't buy cordial or fizzy/soda drinks); we all have juice every day -watered down, so it's half juice, half water or for me about a 1/3 juice to 2/3 water
- i'm starting to think our juice isn't quite the same as in the US (is concentrate the norm?? @gonewiththewind ); smoothies (sometimes with dairy but mostly not (with almond milk instead) i have every few weeks)
2. Do you have a favourite flavour? We'd have so much more room in the fridge if we could agree but DH has to have Orange Mango, DS & I have apple, and DD will only drink AppleBlackCurrant - a few times a week DH & I'd have a glass of Cranberry juice but in the name of fridge space, that has gone by the wayside; Smoothies i use frozen anything, frozen mango or blueberry with yoghurt and almond milk is usually my fave but it's mostly a way i use 'old' bananas, of which we have several in the freezer, my only issue apart from the clean up is the noise of the juicer and the blender!
3. Do you often buy it as bottled long life, fresh squeezed, from a juice bar or juice things at home yourself ?
All the above depending on when and where we are, normally it's just the bottled long life stuff
4. Have you ever juiced or tried anything from a juice bar or while on a vacation that you'd consider 'strange'? (not your typical orange & apple etc)
At home we juice carrots and various fruits occassionally but they oxidise so fast, we don't do more than we can drink over the next day or so. I think we've experimented with a bunch of different veg as well but we always go back to our normal store bought, long life juices (they're 99% juice, no added sugar ones)
We tried so many different types of 'juices' in Singapore - we all ended up liking their version of lime juice the best - it wasn't the slightly smaller than a lemon type of lime fruit they used though and i can't figure out what the equivalent is, maybe some kind of finger lime?? they were quite small like a bit bigger than an olive and chopped in half and thrown in whole kind of like a garnish, but they juiced everything from straight sugar cane and barley to fairly normal fruits like watermelon and kiwi but our version of 'normal' (apple and orange) seemed to be the hardest to find.
5. How do you feel about 'green' juice? Wheat grass, spinach, kale etc
Mentally I've chickened out before adding anything except a small amount of spinach, not being prepared to 'ruin' my juice and thinking if I can't bring myself to finish a cup of green tea, how can i drink a green smoothie? i'd rather eat spinach instead of lettuce and a few cucumbers than chuck them in the blender

1. Do you drink juice or smoothies? Nope. Can't stand smoothies.
2. Do you have a favorite flavor? No.
3. Do you often buy it as bottled long life, fresh squeezed, from a juice bar or juice things at home yourself ? Sometimes get Cranberry Pomegranate. But most juices are chock full of sugar &/or carbs.
4. Have you ever juiced or tried anything from a juice bar or while on a vacation that you'd consider 'strange'? No.

1. Do you drink juice or smoothies? (At all, sometimes, seasonally, daily? etc) we are huge smoothie drinkers here. we have the one that makes a big pitcher of smoothie and the individual size smoothie. we prefer the individual sizes so we can all make our smoothies custom to our tastes and needs.
2. Do you have a favourite flavour? i prefer berries or peaches in mine - always a mixing of fruits though.
3. Do you often buy it as bottled long life, fresh squeezed, from a juice bar or juice things at home yourself ? we often buy smoothies when out for a quick light "lunch" when traveling. not a fan of the premade bottled ones though.
4. Have you ever juiced or tried anything from a juice bar or while on a vacation that you'd consider 'strange'? (not your typical orange & apple etc) i don't think i've tried anything strange but i've seen some strange ones.
5. How do you feel about 'green' juice? Wheat grass, spinach, kale etc i prefer to add greens to my smoothie - makes me feel like they are healthier! :giggle i love to add kale or spinach.

1. Do you drink juice or smoothies? (At all, sometimes, seasonally, daily? etc) No, never liked smoothies and only tomato juice on occasion. Otherwise it's too much sugar that I'd rather have via chocolate.
2. Do you have a favourite flavour? tomato
3. Do you often buy it as bottled long life, fresh squeezed, from a juice bar or juice things at home yourself ? n/a
4. Have you ever juiced or tried anything from a juice bar or while on a vacation that you'd consider 'strange'? (not your typical orange & apple etc) No
5. How do you feel about 'green' juice? Wheat grass, spinach, kale etc - I'm sure it's good for us but ...gag.:cornfused

All the above said, I've pureed canned peaches for Dick recently and since he eats so so little at a time I wondered what I'd do with it. We went to Starbucks so he could have a 10K calorie Strawberry frapuchinno and I was at a loss as to what to get. Finally I decided on green tea with peach. Now I make green tea and add some peach puree. Is that juice??? LOL

i'm starting to think our juice isn't quite the same as in the US (is concentrate the norm??

I'm just speaking about orange juice here. Um, Florida, you know! LOL

Non-concentrate juice is squeezed, flash-pasteurized and poured into freshness-saving cartons. No water, sugar or preservatives are added. To me, it tastes fresh-squeezed. It can be more expensive than from-concentrate juice.

From-concentrate means that the fruit is squeezed and its water extracted using heat and pressure. This produces a concentrated form, like what you’ll find in the frozen-food aisle. Later, the water gets added back in, and then the juice is pasteurized and packaged.

As far as other juices, like apple juice, grape juice, pineapple juice, etc., I'm not as picky and will buy frozen concentrate or bottled, as long as it's 100% juice and not with added sugar.

]1. Do you drink juice or smoothies? (At all, sometimes, seasonally, daily? etc)
I drink occasional orange juice and lemonade and smoothies.

2. Do you have a favourite flavour?
Not for smoothies. For juice, it would be orange+pineapple.

3. Do you often buy it as bottled long life, fresh squeezed, from a juice bar or juice things at home yourself ?
I buy bottled juice about once a month. Rarely bottled smoothies. I buy fresh squeezed lemonade a few times a year when I find it. I don’t know if a juice bar, but we go to our local smoothie place a few times a year. I make a lot of smoothies at home in my blender.

4. Have you ever juiced or tried anything from a juice bar or while on a vacation that you'd consider 'strange'? (not your typical orange & apple etc)
No, but only due to lack of opportunity. I’d like to.

5. How do you feel about 'green' juice? Wheat grass, spinach, kale
A fabulous way to consume greens! I have put spinach and kale in smoothies and it doesn’t affect the flavor.

1. Do you drink juice or smoothies? (At all, sometimes, seasonally, daily? etc) I don't drink coffee or tea do my morning orange juice is my daily kickstarter. Also love freshly made lemonade.
2. Do you have a favourite flavour? Orange juice (also - does Grapefruit Margarita count? I used freshly squeezed Ruby Reds in them...)
3. Do you often buy it as bottled long life, fresh squeezed, from a juice bar or juice things at home yourself ? Mostly freshly bottled stuff for orange juice and the breakfast mix. apple juice and grapefruit juice is ok if it long life. I'm like you Justine and have an electric juicer that I should get out now while it's peak citrus time.
4. Have you ever juiced or tried anything from a juice bar or while on a vacation that you'd consider 'strange'? (not your typical orange & apple etc) Our eldest will try any strange drink that is put infron of him while overseas - he sees it as his mission to try all drinks - mostly they are not to our taste - warm citrus milk was probably the worst)
5. How do you feel about 'green' juice? Wheat grass, spinach, kale etc - Just no!

1. Love smoothies!
2. Pineapple and ginger.
3. Our supermarket has a juice bar, I get my orange juice from them.
4. Our juice bars are usually not crazy, I used to love making my vanilla protein, banana, hot sauce one.
5. Just green with nothing else? NOPE, thanks! Mixed with other stuff and fruits, no problem.

Love that GIF! LOL!!!!!

well good on you for giving it a go and liking it, i assume - my brother drinks Liptons bottled peach tea and various aloe vera and from the Asian grocers sorts of juices but if i'm drinking cold tea, it's usually my normal English Breakfast that i left too long between sips doing things that's gone stone cold- i hope Dick enjoyed the outing and those calories (which i would never need but with all he's been through, if he can manage it, i wouldn't stop him!)

i would have drawn the line at warm citrus milk too :cornfused - we never quite worked up the courage to try Durian either while away earlier this year but dragon fruit i love, i think it's just cheaper to buy kiwi fruit here and they taste pretty similar to me
