I haven't checked my daily calendar much since school let out, but I looked today and it's Jerky Day! I love a good spicy jerky! We have a Beef Jerky Outlet right up the road and some of that stuff is freaking expensive! In the fall and winter, we get a lot of deer jerky from our hunter friends and family. I've made it myself a few times, back when I was married to a hunter.

Are you a jerky fan?
Do you have a favorite flavor?
Ever made it yourself?

I am a fan of jerky! One thing I miss from Texas (now that Im in Missouri) is the local grocery store in Texas made their own spiced turkey jerky. I love having that for lunch along with some fruit.

Never made it. No idea how to make it. If I had to kill my own animals, I would revert back to a vegetarian because Im such a softie at heart. Not sure if jerky could be made with store bought meat?

Never made my own. I'm like Lisa, I could not kill any animals. I was vegetarian and now am back to eating meat but sparingly and not every day. I struggle with the ethics of how our meat is obtained. I like turkey jerky but don't eat much of it. I don't like really chewy jerky, I like the softer stuff.

I don't like it at all, but my hubby and all the kids love it. Now, we have deer jerky, too - we have lots of hunters in the family. During deer season, every house has it.

I've only eaten homemade. My sister's ex husband used to do it. He's a hunter. All I remember is that it was salty & chewy.

It's been available in stores here since a couple of years, but I'm a vegetarian now since 2014, so I won't try it.

I like jerky, but it's so expensive that I don't very often buy it. Usually we only get it when we are going camping or backpacking because it's nice and light and has good protein in it. My favorite is the teriyaki flavored kind. My kids both love it and gobble it up whenever I do buy it though and then I usually don't even get any. Lol.

We call jerky "biltong", it's a dried meat that is slightly salted. We love beef or Kudu (which is an antelope so would be more of a hunted deer kind. We love it, have never made it myself. But a little sampling to snack on is always welcome.

Are you a jerky fan? yes, but I always have some floss on hand for afterwards! ;)

Do you have a favorite flavor? I like the peppered for a spicy version or teriyaki for a sweet/salty flavor

Ever made it yourself? My dad makes deer jerky every year, but I personally have never made it.

I go through phases. If I eat it, I only eat a little.

My mom makes really good beef jerky. We just went on a family trip and she brought a whole bag. I only ate one piece...it was gone before I could get more.
