January 12: Cropped/Hidden Photo as Title

I'm ready to give up on this one! All I am getting is the word on top of the shape. Its not getting cut out just sitting on the picture. I'm using PS Elements 11.
can you send a full screen shot? with your layout and the layers palette so i can see? you can PM me or pop here in the thread.

I didn't see that step! Will have to go back and play with this when MOC is done. I really would like to know how to do it correctly! Thanks!
@cfile gave some instructions here in the thread that was another way to do it without using a duplicate photo. We popped the instructions from christa into my #2 post. EVERY CHALLENGE for MOC this year has a #2 post - where the host can answer questions, clarify things, add instructions when people are having issues and just provide extra help. Please read the #2 posts for each challenge - especially if you are struggling!

I made this video last night too - it's in PSCC but the tools are ALL available in PSE as they are very basic tools - just might be slightly different location. And the layout of the program looks different PSCC vs PSE - but the technique/steps are similar. Maybe this will help some of you?
Remember there are multiple ways to do everything in Photoshop.

Thank you for the video!! I think what was messing me up was duplicating the photo. I don't see that being done in the video. I can't find the shape tool in mine but used the cookie cutter to make my shape and had to fill it with a paper. I hope that is correct. Hope to try it again when I get caught up with the rest of MOC. Also couldn't send you a screen shot since I had shut it down. Hope the one I did will pass in case I can't get a different one done.

I Can't Believe I Finally Got This Challenge Finished After 8 Days!...Meh!...I Am All For Learning New Techniques & I Don't Ever Shy Away from This But This Challenge & I Did Not Mesh!!!!...All Of The Initial Instructions Did Not Mesh With My Program...If It Wasn't For @jenn mccabe 's Wonderful Patience & Help!...I Would Never Have Gotten This One Done...A Lot Of The Buttons & Drop Down Boxes That Were Supposed To Have Certain Words In There...Just Weren't There...Honestly,I Can't Really Say How I Figured It Out & I'm Not Really Happy With The Results But It Was The Best I Could Do & It's No Small Miracle That I Got This One Done At All...Either Way...I'm Taking The High Road Now & Moving On(With A Smile On My Face) To The Next Challenge!..Day 20!...
