My boy is no longer a boy...I knew it would happen but it just came up on me. He turned 17 last week, I got his grad proofs in, we went on a college tour Saturday and college applications will be sent out next month. Soon it will be time to apply for grants and scholarships as well :dizzy

Adding to that, he has his license and is taking my car on an 'official' date this coming Saturday. Instead of me driving them and picking them up. :hissy

When did I get old?

oh I know this too well, I cried so hard..and was so proud of him, but so sad...I tried to scrap pages of him little and would weep!
as for getting older, I like to say, I got wiser!
big hugs to you and I am proud of you for raising a fine young man!

Oh gosh! I can't even start to think about these things... It will make me have a nervous breakdown. *hugs mama*

Hugs to you. I'm glad I've got a long way to go before facing that. Congrats to you for raising a fine young man!

thanks ladies. I am very fortunate as he is great young man and the only 'typical' teen behaviour I have is the selective listening when it comes times for chores, sometimes the mouth (and attitude) gets a little sassy and he doesn't study hard enough (in my opinion). Compared to what others have to deal with I will take it!!

It is both sad and exciting at the same time. He is my only so is my 'one shot deal' for the world out there :)

ohhh!! big hugs mamma!! we're not quite there yet... a few years away, but i can see it peeking around the corner already! i'm so not ready!!

Gosh, I have been thinking about that too, I am also so not looking forward to it.
Sometimes I could cry thinking of my boy allready being 6 years old in january. I would like them to stay as they are.
But that's not fair, isn't it? We wanted to grow up too.

So feeling with you and as the others said, you can pay proud of such a fine young man! :yourock

Oh my. Mine aren't there yet, but I can see that I'm going to blink and be in the same position. They grow way too fast! Exciting new adventures ahead for you and him though! :) Just think of it as new stuff to scrap about!

I think of all I will do if he attends school away from home, see this is also his last year of travel hockey so I will have big holes to fill next year. Exciting and scary times ahead for sure :)

I bet you'll have all the monthly, weekly and in between challenges done around here! :giggle

Right there with you!! My firstborn turned 17 on Monday. sigh... Every day there's dozens more college brochures in the mail.

Hugs

I was just lamenting how I only have five years left with my oldest…I really need to cherish them! This will be me in a blink!

Oh Jaye - I am not looking forward to this part. Hoping the next 5 years just don't happen. HUGS!

I felt this, "life passing too fast thing" just last night ... over the weirdest little trigger. We ordered take-out and they always give their customers a new cheesy calendar in Dec. It felt like we just got the 2014 Calendar, not that long ago. Made me sad as I looked around at my two teen aged kids ... one way taller than me and the other just a blink away from surpassing me in height. sigh.
