It's military spouse law...
There's a sort of law among military spouses that when your husband leaves, something is bound to happen/break/go wrong. And it proved true for me once again last night. I got a flat tire driving onto base and spent THREE hours in the tire shop with 2 kids. Should have been just an hour but apparently there were 2 holes and the guy only patched one (didn't see the 2nd) and as I was going to leave I noticed the tire was flat. And of course, I needed to buy a whole new tire. Yes, this is the same car that I've had to replace the battery in and get a coolant leak fixed...within the last 20 days.
And he's only gone for this week. I thought I'd get off easy! But it never fails - every time he leaves, something happens.

this upcoming deployment will be different though because now we have the two girls who've never been away from him for more than 2 months at a time.
