It's military spouse law...

There's a sort of law among military spouses that when your husband leaves, something is bound to happen/break/go wrong. And it proved true for me once again last night. I got a flat tire driving onto base and spent THREE hours in the tire shop with 2 kids. Should have been just an hour but apparently there were 2 holes and the guy only patched one (didn't see the 2nd) and as I was going to leave I noticed the tire was flat. And of course, I needed to buy a whole new tire. Yes, this is the same car that I've had to replace the battery in and get a coolant leak fixed...within the last 20 days. :td

And he's only gone for this week. I thought I'd get off easy! But it never fails - every time he leaves, something happens.

It's not just military. It happens when my husband travels, too. So annoying. Not that he's capable of fixing anything anyway, but...

I hope nothing else happens while he's gone!

My husband wouldn't fix it anyway, so I'd just do what I always do and call his best friend! lol!

This is truth. Sometimes it's little things, sometimes it's big things but it quite literally happens every.time.

Here's hoping the rest of his time away goes smoothly! :beat

I feel you completely... twice when my husband was gone for drill (it's literally one weekend, right?!)... the sewer backs up and floods the living room... TWICE... both times he was gone... that's just one of the many things, but it's such a stinkin' pain...my hubby is out of the military now (did 18 years in)... but he's still going to manage to be gone when something happens, lol... at least as a military spouse, you are somewhat prepared... when Scott when on his first long deployment, I learned how to take care of myself for the first time ever... and I was already 28... huge learning curve... I am glad you guys are all okay and the tire didn't blow or cause a car accident...

Thanks, Kat! I definitely had to learn to take care of myself during the first deployment too. Enough to give birth to our first daughter while he was in Iraq! :) this upcoming deployment will be different though because now we have the two girls who've never been away from him for more than 2 months at a time.

Ugh... sorry about the murphy's law with your car. Hopefully you've gotten all the break downs out of the way and you won't have any more of that while he's deployed. Where is your DH going and for how long Shannon?

Karen, Hawaii will be his home base but he'll be doing missions in the Pacific region for about 7 months. We still have a few more weeks to enjoy him at home though!
