it's a month

It's already a month since I moved to Borneo.. It's so weird I am still missing home.. and I am struggling with the working culture here.. They walk slow, they think slow, they work slow... it's driving me nuts.. I work fast and it's getting into my nerves that to get something done it takes a week!! omg.. I so wanna go home.. but I love the beaches and the simplicity here..

I can't decide..

I would totally still be missing home after probably 6 months, so I can totally understand that. I'd say you'll need at least another month to adjust and make new friends before you can say whether you like it or not. I hope things smooth out for you soon!

hmmm.... I might just try it out for another month and see how it goes... thanks sweetie!!

Sounds different but being from a military family background and being moved from place to place every so few years, well, it is an adjustment and I think you're going to do just fine. And hey.....you still got us here at TLP. :)

I am a lover of all things slow...I'm a country girl and we like to slow down and look at the world around us. I would fit in quite well there. lol So sorry you are having a hard time of it. Keep your chin up and look for the good things there. I am sure you will find something that makes you happy. :heartlub

Lol!! don't get me wrong .. i love the country , nature and the place.. it's just the working culture drives me crazy... I deal with customers and it take a month to get someone to fix the air condition in the gym which I think is ridiculous as my customers are all complaining ... and noone bothers about this other than me.. so I'm getting really stressed as I seem to have so much on my plate.. I totally love Sabah..

I hope things start to even out a little for you soon, Lili. I wonder if the slower tempo will grow on you?

I have been wondering about this too.. most of my friends who moved here told me that I am definitely be like them too slower and slower each day..

I agree that you should probably give it a bit more time, but I understand your frustration for sure!

I agree, give it a little more time. It's such a change and a huge move it will definitely take some time to truly know if you can feel settled and content there... I hope it works out for you :)

Yeah...definitely give it a little more time to see if you'll truly enjoy living there.

Sounds like they need you there. You'd be my favorite if you were the one trying to fix a broken air con. : )
I'm with you. Slow pace of life is okay, but not taking care of things is unnecessary. Hope you don't go crazy!

it takes a bit to get used to a different pace to life LiLi! I know that when we moved to the BIG CITY from Far North Queensland (were everything is SLOW, slow, SLOW and relaxed and HOT!) it took me ages to get used to used to the hustle and bustle of every day life, the crowds, the noise but you DO get used to it and eventually the pro out weight the cons. Give it a bit more time before you decide xoxo
