I was listening to an older episode of the Digi Show tonight while doing laundry and they were talking about going to crops with other digi friends, so I was wondering about this. How many of you have friends that do digital scrapbooking?

When I started paper scrapping about 11 years ago, a lot of my friends were scrapbookers... in fact, they got me started on the whole scrapbooking addiction by taking me to a Creative Memories party. I saw a magazine with a page that had digital water drops added to it and the rest is history. I do still go to crops a couple times a year and do two weekend scrapbook retreats every year, but I'm still the only digi scrapbooker. Well, my MIL dabbles, but she only works with freebies and isn't addicted like I am. I can't even get my other friends to do crops with me most of the time because they aren't as into as I am anymore. They don't make time for it very often.

Anyway, I've often wished I had a friend that was in the same digi scene like I am that I could talk digi with... How many of you do?

Before I started digi scrapping i use to go to all the scrap nights, scrap partys, the stamp parties, they were all alot of fun. All my friends would just scrap all night long, even all day. But since I started digi i havent gone to one since :(
(I still do the little albums and play around with my stash, but as for a layout I would say I did maybe 2 since 2004. I want to try and print some digi stuff out and make a album with it but just havent tried. )
But it would be nice to have a friend near me that does the digi scene too.

See...that's the one thing that stinks about being military...you have to leave all your friends behind! :( In Germany I had (one of my two bestest friends in the whole world) who digi-scrapped. We used to bring our laptops over to each others houses and while the kids played, we'd scrap. She was the one who introduced me to digi-scrapping and the one who taught me how to do more than just open photoshop. lol! She even taught me how to use (and install) my actions! They were productive play dates! :) But, she moved...and we moved...and now I have no digi friends anywhere close to me! But, I'm holding out hope that one day we'll move some place that I can come and meet and scrap with you guys! :) And, as often as we move, it's totally possible! I need to keep a running tally of who lives where! lol!

I have my sister (who introduced me to digiscrapping), but other than that I think that most of my friends think that I am a bit crazy with my scrapbooking. So, I am super thankful to have a sister who can talk 'digi' with me!

I am so lucky to have friends who digiscrap! I was introduced to digiscrapping by one of my co-workers. And I go to a crop about once a month with my friend Melissa, who I met through digi sites. We used to be the only two with laptops, but now a lot more people there have gone digi. The crop we go to has a lot of outlets so if anyone is in the NJ area and wants to come, let me know! :)

I've been lucky to meet a lot of my digi friends at conventions or CHA or when they've come to visit NYC!

I have a few - actually, a few of them have asked me for "classes" to improve on their skills. But I've never done a digi crop of any sort - mostly because I only have a desktop! Kind of hard to haul that around! LOL

I had a few friends who wanted me to teach them, but like Jordan, they moved on or we moved and never got around to it.

Jordan, before our very first posting a friend (another Navy wife) told me "the world IS a small place and the millitary is even smaller, we will see each other somewhere along the line" sure enough 2 years later we were almost neighbours and good friends once again.

My husbands step-mom told me a saying about friends that I firmly believe "every friend you have is either your friend for a reason, a season, or a life-time".

I don't have any :( As a matter of fact other than my mom (who used to dabble, but doesn't anymore) I don't even know anyone in real life that digi scrapbooks. But I keep holding out hope that when I move back to Texas I will meet someone who does it...or at the very least have the opportunity to convert someone!

I don't have anyone here (in FL) who digiscraps although all my friends still paper scrap, they are just scared of digi for some reason, I try to tell them that is sooo much easier then paper but they are stubborn. It looks like we will be moving back to Richmond in either in December or June so I will be right around the corner from Jen(J) so that will be nice!

nope, no digi friends here. really, at the moment, hardly any friends of any sort (that sounds pretty pitiful, i know) since we haven't lived here very long. when we were still in Michigan, i would go to crops pretty regularly, but i was definitely the only digi girl. everyone else was pretty much Creative Memories or whatever that's called.

I have Melissa, mlewis, who lives pretty close to me. Our boys are in the same grade at school and she is the one who actually got me into digi. I had been a die hard paper scrapper for about 7 years and was even a consultant for a company called Close To My Heart, which I loved. I had always thought people that did digi scrapbooking were missing out on so much but after looking through Melissa's books and giving it a try I was hooked and realized I was the one missing out. It was sad to see all paper supplies go and it was a pretty hard switch to make. My husband had just built me a whole scrapbook room with shelves and everything out of one of our spare bedrooms. I had so much stuff to get rid of but the hardest thing was for me to leave behind the company that I loved so much. But it's been great and I love that there is no mess and I love that Melissa introduced me to "The Dark Side."

I will say that I had lots of friends when I paper scrapped that did the same thing as me. I met a lot of girls in my neighborhood through them hosting parties for me and there was also a great friend that sold Creative Memories and I would hold crops and such for all of us at my house at times and now that I am doing digital I don't really have that anymore. I have always thought it would be fun to get a digital crop together but I guess life is so crazy that I never actually work out the details.

I turned one of my friends from a paper scrapper to a digi scrapper shortly after I made the switch. We don't live near each other anymore (military) but she's still an IRL friend!

Only my sister knows about digital scrapbooking and understands it, she created a few layouts everyone else doesn't understand it lol

Nope, no friends who digi scrap. I did have some paper scrapping friends in Texas and would go to crops every so often. I tried to teach a few of them about digi scrapping but nobody ever really picked it up in the crazy way that I did. I think it would be so fun to sit around with laptops, scrap and drink wine! :)
