So I'm coming up for my first winter with an iPhone and thank goodness I found this tip on FB the other day!

Put a drop of thermal grease on the end of your glove fingertip. Rub it in well and then your body heat will go through the glove and the iPhone will work! woo!!

I asked DH (a mechanic) if he can get me some thermal grease to do this and he's like WTH??? just take your gloves off!!
But I think it's an awesome idea. :yesss

I never thought about this issue since we rarely wear gloves here in Texas, but at Target this year I saw gloves that had special tips so you could use your iphone/smartphone with them. So apparently it is a significant issue. lol....That is a cool idea...

My hubby bought a pair of those special gloves that allow you to leave your gloves on and still use your iPhone. They have super fine metallic threads in the tip of your finger because you actually need the tiny electrical connection from your skin to the phone, not just the heat. I'd be interested to see if the thermal grease works (and it might because that would probably conduct the electricity too)

i saw a video where they used the grease and it did work, I just assumed it was heat only. My mistake. I've never heard of those gloves before...will have to look for some.

Not that I have a smartphone, lol, but all my gloves are the types where you can make your fingers be uncovered thanks to years of smoking and burning gloves. The year before getting pregnant with Mason my mom and John both bought me like 5 pairs of them so that I'd quit destroying my gloves.

I rarely wear gloves here in southern Calif, so it's never been a problem...so interesting though. I would've never known!

I have glittens - they looks like mittens but then the top flips off and it's like a fingerless glove underneath. I love them. :)
