Do you back your phone up to your computer or to iCloud?

I just had to replace my iPhone yesterday due to iTunes connection issues on the phone. I had backed up some stuff to my computer, but the rest was all done through iCloud. Not good when you have replace the phone. My last back-up that I could access was 3 months ago...so that's what I've got. I guess it's better than nothing.

I think I'm going to back up to both from now on.

I do both, although I back up to my computer much less often now that iCloud is available. I <3 iCloud. :)

Can't you access your iCloud backup if you change phones? You Apple account would be the same, right? I don't know how it all works, but it seems like your data would be attached to your Apple account, and when you get your new phone, you would just associate it with that account and it should be able to get all your data for you.

Hadn't backed up in awhile so I'm doing that now. Hadn't used iCloud yet but I'm going to do some looking into that as well. You never know anymore about tech stuff.

Okay, a little off topic, bur for those of you have use iCloud, how exactly is it working out for you. I don't seem to get it. Which makes me feel like a total dor because I LOVE gadgets like these. I guess I just haven't had the time to really sit and figure it out...

I sync my Contact, Calendars, Reminders and Safari Bookmarks to iCloud. You really don't have to do anything. You just set it up in the preferences on your iPhone/iPad and then it will automatically keep those things synced without you having to plug your device into your computer and syncing through iTunes. When I enter a doctor's appointment on my iPhone it automatically shows up in iCal (if you aren't on a Mac or aren't using iCal, I know it will sync with other programs too, cause my hubby does it, but I'm not exactly sure how you set it up). When I change a phone number or address in my laptop Address Book, it automatically updates in the Contacts on my iPhone.

Also, any music or movies you have purchased through iTunes is now stored in iCloud, so you can access it anytime through your device without having to connect to your computer (as long as you have a Wifi or 3G internet connection).

Not sure if that all makes sense, but that's what I've been using iCloud for, and I really love it. :)

i am only sort-of using iCloud right now - i still sync w/ my computer ... my problem at the moment is that my computer has one apple ID and my iTunes has another - so now if i want my calendar and stuff to sync, the iTunes won't ... or at least i can't figure it out. and now my 'find my phone' won't work either - it used to work w/ mobile me - but not w/ iCloud ... i need some time to figure it out!
