Ok, so... I'm sure there are other discussions around about this but I wanted to ask a more detailed question...

For those of you who have a Samsung (Galaxy), why do you love this phone? I'm contemplating (and have been for MANY weeks) but just can't decide if I should stay with my iPhone (been with one for many years now) or switch over to a DROID but get the Samsung Galaxy. I'm also thinking of switching from Verizon to T-Mobile b/c we are getting ripped new ones each month just because of the data plans! It's R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S. I think all wireless services should offer unlimited talk, text, AND Data!!! So stupid that big companies that have been around a very long time like Verizon don't offer the unlimited data. :hissy

Ok, so why do you like the Galaxy? Have you switched from the iPhone to one? What about iTunes? I have all of my music in here and am a MAC lover/user so I worry if this would be a big mistake? :dizzy

My son just got a Samsung Galazy after having an Iphone. He worships the Galaxy!!!

My son got a new Windows phone after having an iPhone and loves it (not that you asked about Windows phones BUT he doesn't miss the iPhone)

I have an iPhone and my husband has the Samsung Galaxy S4. Before I had my iPhone, I had a Droid. I loathe Android. I was really super excited about it, but after two years of never getting the latest apps and trying to find a music player/organization system that plays nice with iTunes and also works, I gave up and got an iPhone. I'm not sure about the app situation now, but my phone is so much easier to use than my husbands. I hate typing on his! The downside of the iPhone is it isn't as big of a screen...but that also means it isn't as giant of a phone to carry around and I'll take a smaller screen to have my music and apps play nicely together.

We have Verizon, with three phones we share 6 GBS. They looked at our plan and told us how much we were using and we never went over 6 GBs. I was really sad to lose my unlimited data though.

My husband switched from an iPhone to Galaxy when he did his upgrade. He loves it...the size, the ease of use...he just loves everything about his Galaxy.

I have been back and forth on what I want to do...the biggest thing holding me back is all the money I have spent on apps and such...lame I know.

Okay I have a Galaxy S4 and have had it since Aug. I can from an iPhone... and honestly... I am switching back to iPhone next month (on the tmobile JUMP plan). I like the Galaxy, don't get me wrong but I miss the ease of the iphone. From playing music to using apps to saving photos, it's just so much simplier. I can't wait until Feb. I am counting down lol. Honestly I haven't used any of the "special" features on this phone, like the pause when looking away, wave to answer calls, ect ect except the drama shot on the camera. The only thing I will miss is the 13mp camera.... but it's only good in super great lighting lol I think I will be okay with the iPhone 5s camera.

So yeah there is my opinion. lol

I also jumped from iPhone to galaxy and at first I was happy with my choice but now realise it's the biggest mistake i made and can't wait for my contract to be up to switch back, the apps was better on iPhone the iPhone was more sturdy I've had this galaxy since June and it looks battered yet I dropped the iPhone that many times and it looked perfect

I never had an iPhone :( but I have a Samsung galaxy S3 mini and I love it. I'm a mac user but I don't use itunes.

I have an iPhone 4S and have never had any droids. I love it because of the ease of use and the stability of the apps offered. I've also dropped my iPhone numerous times, but it's working fine. I got my iPhone in late 2011.

I had a Droid before the iPhones were released to Verizon and jumped ship as soon as I was able to. I will never go back to a Droid. I started with the 4 and upgraded to the 5… my husband is still using the 4 that I bought several years ago. I'm having issues with my 5, but nothing that keeps me from being able to use it (the volume down button doesn't work). The Droid I had was in for service for 3 months of the 6 months that I owned it.

You'd have to pry my iPhone out of my cold, dead hands. My husband and son have Android phones and I hate them.

I've always had android phones, and plan to switch to an iPhone in March when I can get a new phone. My job has a ton of phone apps for email, time cards, etc., and they're doable on an android, but MUCH easier on an iPhone, so that's my motivation.

neither... I LOOOOVE my Windows phone! LOVE :beat :heartslub
I have a Samsung Odyssey and love it.
Hubby has a Nokia Lumia, and I love it even more!!

i am not at all an i-anything fan. just don't care for them.

i have had a droid before and turned it back in to Verizon and downgraded to a dumb phone. my text and talk only phone was a better choice than the droid. the droid was horrid.

I've always been android so I'm not much help - I currently have a Galaxy S3 and will probably move to the Galaxy S5 if it's halfway decent.

I'm very Google dependent, I'm PC-based, and I've never used iTunes - but I could see how if you're a Mac user or a longtime iPhone user, with all your media in iTunes, it would be much more streamlined to be on the iOS platform. Although I know there are solutions to that, my husband has his media in iTunes and uses an app called DoubleTwist (I think?) on his HTC One (Android) and it plays well with his library. All my music is subscription based through Google Music (monthly fee) so I don't have a media library that I maintain that would be an issue. And although I do download a lot of just for fun apps, like photography apps, I really just use my phone for the more boring, everyday things ... like emailing, maintaining my calendar, lo-jacking the family, etc. So the availability of the latest apps isn't a deal breaker for me. Most of the photography or other apps that I download don't get much use and eventually get deleted anyway. I don't like to spend a lot of time fussing with things on a small screen. (although I do love VSCO Cam and use it heavily!)

I feel like an iPhone is the best choice if you really like to have a lot of fun with your phone and use the latest, greatest apps. But if you're someone who likes to really fine-tune your phone and you're a bit of a tech nerd, Android has a lot more flexibility in that department.

I'm an iPhone user and love my phone. My sister and her husband both have Galaxy's which are great because they are larger and I'd love a slightly larger phone. I carry mine in my purse and never in my pocket so I don't care if it's bigger. So, I like my sister's phone for that, BUT, I HATE the interface. It's confusing and not easy for me to get around in. I'm sure that I'd get used to it, but still. My iPhone just works and I don't think I'll switch for a long time. Also the rumor mill say Apple is making a Galaxy sized iPhone on the next release. I will be SO happy if they do!

I also have an iPad, a MacBook Pro and 2 iPod Shuffles... so it does make sense for me to stick with it since it all works so well together. lol

I switched from an Android (I had the Motorola Bionic) to an iPhone 5 in September. I am so, so happy I switched. Having an iPod Touch and an iPad, this makes so much more sense for me. I also just find it faster, holds charge much longer, more user-friendly for me all the way around. Apps are better, better phone cases. HA!!

Ooh I'd love them to make a bigger screen iPhone

I'm a former iPhone 4, 4S, and 5 user and made the change last July to the Samsung S4 and I am very happy with my Droid! Love it! Wouldn't trade it! A couple of my co-workers here in the Technology Department went from Droids to iPhones and out of 4 of those that switched.....3 are back with a Droid. And with Chromecast now in the picture, well.......it just works for us.

I too am on the fence about this. I have been dragging my feet on making a decision for months.
The main thing keeping me with iphone right now is all of the accessories and apps. Everything cool and new seems to only be available for iphone.
A perfect example is an Umi Zoomi app that is available for iphone only. My kids saw this commercial and went nuts. If I were on Droid, this would not be available to me or my kids. It's kind of sad. :(
