Hi Ladies! I'm trying to set up and instagram account just for my scrap pages. If you have one that you post pages to, what are your account settings, public or private? Any other tips or suggestions? Thanks!

My account is public, but I only post scrappy-related stuff/layouts, and those are only the ones that I’m ok with posting publicly, such as those uploaded to Pinterest and The Pad’s gallery. If I post layouts containing school or sports pics of my son, I always blur out the school, town, team name, etc.

If you want to take a look at my account, it’s the.creative.cuppa on IG. I’m londoncuppa everywhere else.

Thank you for your thoughts! I'll look at your account for sure. :)

I have 2 separate accounts. One for family/friends stuff and one for scrappy stuff. My scrappy one is set as public and also set up as a business page, mostly so that I can schedule posts from Later.com. That way I can do it from my computer as I'm uploading everywhere else, and if I have a bunch of pages I can schedule them to post throughout the day or weekend.

I have two accts, one is personal/food/family related and the other is scrap pages which is open to public. Link to mine is in my siggy.

That's a great tip! Thank you!

You can use Later without having a business account, you just have to use your phone to push it through if it's just a regular account. Making it a business account just makes it so it will auto publish for you without having to use the phone at all.

I only have one account, and I just share layouts. You're already following me, but I just requested to follow you back. :)

I don't have any other tips other than the one Jan suggested about using Later for publishing.

Silly question perhaps, and sorry for hijacking the thread question, but what do you get out of posting on instagram ?

Not sure about others, but as far as CT work and things like that, I get more views and engagement on my layouts on Instagram than anywhere else I post.

Instagram is more image driven rather than Facebook. Sharing photos or layout images is super easy AND it's equally easy to find brands or content that you are interested in by searching with hashtags. Even if you aren't a creative team member who wants to share layout images to support a designer, a layout artist can share their creations and find a community of like-minded creatives. I've participated in different challenges - like the 100 day project or December Daily/Document Your December or Inktober - and it's cool not only to get likes and comments, but to be able to see very quickly with a hashtag search what others are creating. Then you make additional friends. :)

I just created a new insta for only scrapbook stuff too! It's nice to have that very focused feed on all things scrapbooking/papercrafting. I am @pagefrocks if anyone wants to follow. I post bits and pieces of other stuff that relates, but use it to post my fav layouts and find inspiration from others.

Thank you ladies, I did wonder, but it sounds like a good place for promotions. I am a fan of pinterest ( or used to be , before all the shops started crowding the feeds ), but dont get on with facebook ,in fact the only account I have is for school classes, and it is private, but I still get bumf ! ) and I have been thinking ….. Thanks again

Good question @KarenC and I've gotten out of the habit but would like the refresher on how to link to Pinterest also. It seems it was one of those links on the right in the Gallery?

Vivi, like Maureen @cookingmylife and I mentioned earlier, we've both been in Instagram since it started. I love staying in touch with friends and family on there. We all post random things from our daily lives as well as some scrapbooking things. My grandkids are on there and it's fun to interact with them since I don't see them on a daily basis. We also all chat on the "messenger" part of Instagram now.

I am on Instagram under Lynn Grieveson and I use Later to post layouts. Mostly it's photos I take on my daily walks or travels :-)
