This year is my first PL attempt and I'm loving it so far! However, I have decided to do an all digital album. Which is great and easy...I can just print my 12x12 pages and insert into page protectors, and I don't have to worry about any 'extras' lying around...I hate clutter and extra 'stuff', but now I'm not certain as to how to handle my insert pages.

I was thinking I'd just have to print another 12x12, but then I though I'd come here and see if anyone has any other suggestions?????

When you say insert pages, do you mean extra pages for the week? Or your extra layouts? I usually make extra PL inserts smaller than the 12x12 size and insert them with the appropriate sized page protector (like an 8.5x11 or something trimmed down) in the middle of the week.

If it's an extra layout, I don't know what to tell you. LOL I have done this on occasion but I make the layout 8.5x11 so it will fit in nicely.

I make my inserts 12x12 and using PL templates and just insert them as I create them. For example, I did an insert about my youngest daughter's birthday. She got one photo on that week's PL layout and then a whole 12x12 insert. The insert went behind that week's PL spread. I created a 2nd insert about the weather to be the facing page.

I bought a bunch of print credits at Persnickety so it's just easier for me to keep them 12x12 since I've already paid for them to be printed.

are there 6x12 page protectors? I think I would do a 12x12 and cut it in half

or I would do front and back 8.5x11s or 8x8s

Yep there are 6x12 page protectors! Perfect for inserts.
When I want to include a square layout I print in 8x8
Sometimes I'll do things in 8.5x11 too . .
lots of options! there are TONS of different page protector sizes available that you could play around with!

I ran across this same dilemma last year. I ended up just doing an extra full spread any time I wanted to do an insert and stuck it in between weeks, but I really love the idea of the smaller 6x12 size!

I have a bunch of the 6x12 inserts from when I attempted PL all paper one year. I am using those this year with my digital album. Week 5 has been my first week for an insert and I am going to have this page printed 12x12 and then when it arrives I will cut it in half and insert in my 6x12 page protector. The pattern paper side will be the back to my photo side and I am going to tuck in some memorabilia I have from that week.

Amanda, I love that idea with the patterned paper for the back! I often have the problem that I don't need both sides so this is great for it.

Awesome! I didn't know about the 6x12!! That's perfect! Amanda, I love the idea of cutting in half and using the pattern paper for the backing and tucking in memorabilia. You guys rock! I knew you girls would have a solution. ;)
