who does photography as a business?

I'm changing some things and am thinking of offering 4x6 on image disk.

However, i want it to look like CRAP if they try and print it larger. i'm also goign to make it less red, sharper, and less contrasty so when they print it at walmart one hour photo, it still looks good!

SO, what size does my image need to be?

Well any image that is cropped to 4x6 won't look great if they try to print it bigger, but I don't offer anything on CDs to my clients (yet) so I've never tried. LOL

my friend does that as well and she just resizes it down to a 4x6 and it seems to work super well for her. Good luck hunny!

Right now i just do it for weddings, as a optional add on after the wedding price, or my cpf, who I have told can NOT print at walmart unless they let me change it for emergency situations....lol

I'm wanting to offer my clients a cd not for reprinting, but maybe for websharing because i know that is a lot of word of mouth stuff, but also because I know I didnt' want to print/frame all of my kids, I just wanted them.

Trying to figure out how to do that, and protect myself....and i KNOW they are gonna print at walmart 4x6
