We're going to see White Christmas in the theater tonight!!! Yesterday I read a Post article saying Turner was re-releasing it into theaters for a short run, and I saw it was showing at my local theater. I simply adore that movie, and to see it on the big screen will be so much fun!!!!

Thanks for letting me share... :circles

How cool is that?! Have fun! I wonder how many audience members will start singing along? :)

And thanks for sharing because I Googled this and there are a few films coming summer 2019 that I've never seen on the big screen!

I never even checked to see which other movies they are doing this for. I guess I have to go check that out.

@Tree City I just checked the list. Field of Dreams & the Wizzard of Oz will be on my do-to list. I did go to a Wizard of Oz sing-along at the Kennedy Center years ago, which was a total blast. They handed us a goodie bag filled with things to participate with: kazoo for the Wicked Witch, a stick with long mylar strands (kind of like a long pom pom thing) to twirl in the air during the tornado, a noisemaker (can't remember what that was for), and bubbles for Glenda the Good Witch. It was so much fun.

But you bet I'll be singing along tonight! I just hope the people around me won't mind.

Lucky! I love that movie... enjoy!!

The theater by us has sing-alongs every season and White Christmas is one of them. I so want to go, but we've never been able to make it happen (I also want to do the sing along Sound of Music at Thanksgiving). Hmmm... maybe I'll push it this year.

Have a wonderful time. I saw the musical in San Francisco years ago & that was some show! The old Stanford Theatre shows old movies. I saw Miracle on 34th Street & Wizard of Oz, pretty cool.

It was a blast. The only downside was the theater was understaffed and they had put the wrong sound to the film feed. We noticed it in the previews but it took into the first scene of the movie for them to fix the sound. It was soundless for a while, but everyone turned it into a sing-along!

It was so great to see it on the big screen. Even though I’ve practically memorized the movie I saw so many new things. I had a hard time focusing on the storyline - I kept on trying to figure out how to recreate the costumes. I could see them all the better!

That's so fun Jan! I'm glad you had a great time!

This is so true! We went and saw "The Princess Bride" on the big screen. It was so much fun - even though we have it practically memorized.

What a great time! I've noticed that they are re-releasing a bunch of movies nowadays at my theater too!

I saw White Christmas Sunday night too. At the Regal Theater in the Fairfax Towne Center near Fair Oaks Mall. Went with four scrappy friends. Four of us are also going to see The Wizard of Oz in January. Three of us saw The Sound of Music a few months ago. Such fun!

I'm glad that you got to see it! It sounds like you're not too far away from me! We went to see it at the Regal Ballston. And I'm also hoping to see the Wizard of Oz in January. My DH & I went to the Kennedy Center years ago for a sing-along. It was so fun to be there with a theater filled with people singing along!

I live near the Tysons Corner Mall. My friends live further out ... Centreville, Bristow, Herndon, and Ashburn, so Fair Oaks is more central for us.

our Christmas outing used to be go see ballet, I haven't been able till last year to sit through a movie or theater play, now I am a bit better we may still find cheap tickets, we have seen Swan Lake many times but Nutcracker Sarita hasb't, so maybe that :)
