And I am SO EXCITED. I'm like a kid before Christmas.

My son has a bi week in football this weekend and my DH and I are taking him to The Swamp to see the Gators play today! It's the first time I've been to a Florida game since I lived there. Brad and Jacob went to a Bowl game last year but it was not in G'ville so this is the 1st time my son will be going to The Swamp.

There is just something about it. I just cannot wait! So, we are heading out on a 5 hour drive right now so we can get there, shop for some t-shirts (b/c you just can't get them here in Georgia... sigh), and head to the stadium!

Win or Lose (and honestly, we are playing Ole' Miss... #3 in the nation, so it will probably be lose :( ) we will have a great time! #anythingcanhappenintheSEC

Have fun! College football games are the best! I know the atmosphere will be electrifying and so fun to share with your son.

However…as an Ole Miss grad I have to say… Hotty Toddy!

Oh, my....I live in Gainesville and would NEVER venture anywhere near the campus on "game day". It's going to be crazy - enjoy your time back in Florida!!! Go Gators! (as long as they aren't playing the Ohio State Buckeyes - GO BUCKS - #1)

SEC day! in the houzzze! I hope you have a great time! Going to the games is AWESOME!!! Our son goes to college at BAM, so we do a LOT of game days on campus - they are fabulous :heartslub

Me on the other hand - ROLL TIDE! - heehee

On a side note - we think our little rescue cat may have been influenced by another team home. It's very sad -:faint2

Every time we say "Roll Tide, Gizmo!" she just sits and stares up at us like we are weird. She may not even be a true Southerner at this point :no2 :ignore

That is one smart cat… :giggle

But I have to agree, nothing like SEC football. I married into a crazy Razorback family - like season ticket, away games in a motor home family. Got my masters at Ole Miss. And now live in Atlanta in Dawg country. So fun!!

That's so cool! I can't wait to hear all about it! I'm sure you will have a blast!

Hope you had a great time!

Looking at that pic makes me feel ill, though! That many people squished in one place...bleurgh...I would rather go to a real swamp and risk alligators any day of the week!!

OMGOSH! What a fabulous SATURDAY! For those of you scratching your heads about this thread, my condolences :giggle

For those of you who understand (especially you SEC gals)... it was a FABULOUS, FUN, LOUD (and honestly, a little surprising) game!

My DS had the best time and it was a wonderful way to spend my Birthday Weekend!

These were all before the game. Once it started the stadium was PACKED and uproariously loud. And AWESOME.

Just had to update you. Chomp.

That looks fun and such great pictures! Yay! Even if it was over my head, lol!

Fab photos. Great to see you all looking so happy...will lookout for your page ;)

PS Is that a marching band on the pitch? My brother used to be in one in the UK and nobody knows what they are here. We were always explaining it to people. He even went to the US to compete one time. So exciting :)

Oh my goodness... this thread was good for some laughs. The foreign language comment totally cracked me up. Lol. I used to love going to football games when I was in college too. There's nothing quite like it and I went to smaller school. I did go to a Michigan game once though and that was CRAZY packed and loud! The score of that game was 51-50 and was epic and exciting.

So Jen, did your team win?

awesome pics jen! so glad you had a great birthday weekend. awesome birthday by the way, my daughter's is the same day! happy belated!!!!:beat

Yes, every team has a Marching band here and they perform before the game and at halftime. The pre-game is mostly cheers... they spelled out Gators (above), and did the state of Florida and a big "F" and other cool stuff... it was great for atmosphere.

We did, Karen! We upset the #3 team in the nation... gave them a beat down. It was so fun. (sorry, Ashley)

Thanks, Jenn. It's a good birthday to have! I actually have a cousin on my mom's side and an uncle on my dad's side with the same birthday.

Thought about you being there. I'm really glad your son got to experience a win! :) great pics!
