A three year old boy and his sister of 1 years are staying with us for 10 days!
I am totally wiped out. Two days in!
They are amazing kids, but the boy is just in the I am potty trained, so goes to potty every 30 minutes and he goes! lol
I can't just watch kids, I make life Disney at Annes! so, swimming yesterday, we bought wading pools today, and park trips, library and more.
My girls are at the same church conference as the parents, so I am out of luck until Saturday, (as they come home 3 days before the mom and dad) hahahha My LIttles, (the boys) have been HUGE HUGE help too! I can't imagine life without them here!
My hat is off to you mom's of toddlers...I am too too old for this..but I do laugh an awful lot, and look forward to bedtime.
I sneak in here during naps, and such...but I miss you all! lol
I'm off to change a diaper...yikes!

Ah... At least they are temporary. I remember those days. My daughter is babysitting a 4 year old this summer and coming up with ideas to keep the child busy has been a struggle. Have fun and enjoy your naps!!!

Hat's off to you! I'm tired just reading that haha. Enjoy the time...Disney at Anne's sounds like a blast!!

Love that image - Disney at Anne's! Good luck and I hope you find the energy to keep on going!

Everytime I am with my nephews and nieces (lots younger than my lot) I think how physically tiring it is just to be around young ones.

Good luck Anne, keeps you in training until the first Grandkids come along!

I didn't think anything could slow you down. It doesn't have to be DisneyAlamo 1 thing a day? So glad the boys are helping. Mine were good help too.
I call it get over the "wishing to be a grandma" experience. Good luck!

Can't say I know how you feel, because I don't "do" babysitting for more than a few hours at the time .
But yesterday I drank about 50 imaginary cups of tea, poured from a horn that looks a bit like a pot,but it makes noise. .. ate 20 imaginary cakes, and pies. Sang the wheels on the bus ,..many many times, tried to make sure the 1 1/2 year old ,who walks really fast, didn't hit his head on the corner of th a glass table, and that his sister who is 3 did not "lead him astray" ... Fun but after 3 hours more than enough.
I will be thinking About you, have fun.

Oh boy, Anne! I hope your laughing and having a ball... in between bouts of exhaustion! They need to bottle toddler energy and stamina! :giggle Mine are a little older now, so I would be taking naps too!

I'm reading this thread while DS plays with matchbox cars and I help him make a lego truck (he brings me the truck when his 4yo hands just can't get the brick in place). :) I'm just getting out of the toddler stage so I get it! And it's so nice your boys are helping--it's great for them and helpful for you!

Argh, duplicate post! Well that's what happens when I multitask. I was supposed to be figuring out wheels for that truck lol!

just keep your inner princess and your inner warrior strong, I know you have it on you!!!!!

I had Sarita when I was almost 38 years old, so I was in my 40s for the toddlers years, we were very active, Andy and I, and gave her an amazing start in life...
Then until 3 years ago we used to have the little ones who used to live next door for sleep overs, but I rarely leave the bed these days, so I know is not that easy (I'm almost 60 now , can't even think about having toddlers for longer than a couple of hours!!!)

I know you, and I know these kids are lucky to be there!!!!! Hope you are getting lots of breaks , love you!!!!!:heartlub:heartlub:heartlub

Yasss! I feel your pain, guerl. For me, it is a grand-daughter that is finally able to get her own cereal for breakfast .... but I remember the days from which you are in, bwhahaha!
Be strong in the knowledge that if little ones have to spend their day with someone other than parents, I think you are a wonderful choice. ♡

So, the little boy we are adopting is 3 and the little girl is 2. Our youngest at home right now is 5, almost 6. All of my kids are pretty capable on their own, they can get dressed, go potty, get food, etc... by themselves. The older ones even cook meals, do laundry, clean up dinner, etc... Even though I homeschool 5 kids life has been pretty nice & easy. I'm preparing my house, mind and spirit for the 2 new little ones...I know it's going to be tiring...but fun too!

I feel for you. But hope you have a fun time too, sounds like they will be begging to return ;-)

DH keeps waxing lyrical about how nice it would be to have another child/ grandchildren. I have an adult child unlikely to move out for a while yet, plus a 14 year old that still needs micro-managing. I just look at him and say "are you MAD?!"

Oy! I'm tired just thinking about having two toddlers to run around after! :giggle But of anyone that I know, I'm pretty sure you are rocking their world and they aren't going to want to go home! Just think of the calories you're burning while running around after them! :)

Bless you and them! I remember those days and the exhaustion that goes with them. Remember to take photos for the Mom & Dad!

Love that you have met your match! I think I need a nap just reading about it.

Enjoy the time.
