So I have a few (matching) American Crafts albums - they sort of have a small maybe 2x2 inch window but are corduroy wrapped and i've been using them for years and then another sort by AC that have a fabric covered spine but chipboard front and back covers so you can create a personalised cover. They have 8x8 inserts but alas, they are harder to come by now.

I'm thinking about using Doodlebug's inserts from their Storybook Album range because i think they have a D-ring binder system and well, if i have to re-punch the holes to fit the AC albums positioning, so be it. Or maybe buying a few Doodlebug albums while i can - 8x8 is always hard to find in physical stores and even online stores based here.

And i should add, I'm so glad someone had the thought to go to D rings -I can't handle post-bound and changing them to add extra pages!

But, anyway, I'm curious, if you print individual pages - what do you keep them in?

I have used Simple Stories SNAP Albums, Heidi Swapp, and Becky Higgins. I have some old ones that are the post bound and I do not like them at all!

I still buy 8x8 albums, Justine. I get them at Michael's or at Michael's online. They're cloth and have a picture opening in front. They often have bogo. I've ordered them on Amazon, too. Here's what most of mine look like: http://www.michaels.com/8x8-cloth-scrapbook-album-recollections/10110621.html

Most of them only hold 20 layouts, but that's okay. I can't add the pages either. My DD used to add them for me, but she doesn't even want to anymore. It's a pain.

I don't print a ton of individual pages, but when I do they are 12 x 12 and I've used the project life albums with D-rings. I just can't stand the post bound albums anymore. I'm no help on the 8x8 size... sorry.

I'm a 12x12 scrapper -- I prefer multiple photos pages and I think 8x8 is too small for that -- and I use whatever 3 ring binder I happen to have. At the moment, I have a mixture of American Crafts, Project Life, and Basic Grey.

8x8: I have American Crafts. I print with Persnickety.
12x12: I have American Crafts - Becky Higgins Line. I print with Persnickety.

No, I'm not a fan-girl: American Crafts just happened to have an outlet store where they sold their excess at a discount in my old town! LOL.

Is it the overseas thing that kills getting the 8x8 inserts?

I keep mine in the 12x12 Project life D-ring binders. The last few years, I've had 2 albums for each year! :) I don't scrap chronologically so it's nice to add in pages for the corresponding year as I print!

I'm a bit "odd man out" since I do 8.5 x 11" pages. For my heritage layouts, I've used post-bound Pioneer albums because it did not take up as much space on my shelves. But for my art pages and more current pages, I really like the We R Memory Keepers albums. They are reinforced on the corners & are quality albums.

I have also used Pioneer albums in the past but they were strap-hinge, not post bound. Strap-hinge is what I started with and have stuck with the last 19 years. I have a couple 8x8 post bound and I agree that they are a hassle. And, personally, I just don't like the look of how layouts lay in D-ring (or any ring type) album.

To each his own :)

My newer scrapbooks are photobooks, but I have years of albums. As much of a pain as the postbound albums can be, they're the only kind I'll use. I did 12x12 D-ring albums one year, and I can't stand how much bulk the rings add to the album. They're almost too big to sit on the couch and look through comfortably, and they take up a lot more shelf space than my post bound albums.
