We are having guests over next Friday and there will be their 4 kids. My kids are hugely picky so I don't usually plan dinners around them, but I want their kids to like what we have and they aren't picky! So can you help me with ideas for dinner for kid friendly-ish food please???

Well I was going to say homemade chicen fingers (I dip mine in melted I Can't Believe It's Not Butter and then in a mix of plain panko & season all) with a variety of dipping sauces so the kids have more choices. But that's not really an adult meal too... Hmmm, let me think and come back.

When I know we're having lots of company over I ususally make a big pot of homemade spaghetti sauce. I make that with some garlic bread and caesar salad with lots of bacon bit and croutons. Usually spaghetti gows over really well with all the kids. :)

Spaghetti is always a "go-to" for large gatherings for us, too. Some like it plain, some like sauce, some like with cheese... But I've not met any kids that don't like garlic bread!

A big pan of homemade macaroni and cheese is also good.

How about cupcakes for dessert?

You could do tacos and have everyone make their own! Tacos are delish and if you want a more healthy version, try using lean ground turkey instead of ground beef (we think it tastes better anyways). Have fun!

Lasagna is something my kids devour! You could add the garlic bread with this too and then it's still an adult type meal too. Koolaide for the kids... wine for the adults. :)

I can post an easy recipe too if you want one.

A batch of beef burgundy? Chili? A large chicken pot pie? I also really like the taco idea. :D

Homemade pizzas. Or you could do homemade pizza for the adults and make your own English muffin pizzas for the littles. Then no one complains that they don't like what they get b/c they made it themselves!

I think a pasta bar would be fun. Meatballs, italian sausage, marinara sauce, alfredo, some veggies and a couple of different pastas. (Maybe even mac&cheese as a sure thing for the kids!)

I think these ladies have it 'bang' on Crystal!! All of these ideas are fab!!

awesome!! Thank you guys!!! The pasta bar is sooooooooo much fun!! I love that idea! might give that a go!

When we have picky eaters at our house (our kids aren't but plenty are), I usually will make food for the adults and kid friendly stuff in the same style for the kids. Like fancy pasta dish for the parents, pizza for the kids. Orange chicken for the parents, edamame and rice for the kids. Fajitas always go over well w all but sometimes make taco salad for adults then tacos or loaded nachos for the kids...

my kids have always liked this dish. . .

Chicken Crescent Rolls

I make with the Chives and Onion Cream Cheese and any type of bread crumbs. Make rice, a gravy out of cream of chicken soup and chicken broth, a veggie or salad and they will LOVE them!

ive heard about Panko but havent tried it yet. does it taste better than bread crumbs( unless it is breadcrumbsLOL)?
