So I totally fell off the wagon somewhere around week 20, and I just can't seem to pick myself up off the ground. I hate feeling like I have half of an album done. I WANT to finish, but I can't seem to muster the energy. I need a pep talk... convince me I can do this!!
:helpy

I think you should look through the album so far and just immerse yourself in all the little details that it lets you capture. Every time I look through mine it inspires me. Think of the little microcosm of your life that's in there. Think how fun it will be in 5 years or 10 years to look back and see how your life used to be, down to the smallest details.

Then, after you are re-inspired, take a bite of the elephant... just do last week, then try to catch up a little at a time. The photos are all there, probably on your phone and your family's phones to get. You don't even need to feel compelled to do it week at a time, combine two weeks on each spread.

Did I help any?

Hm, I've been working on week 25 for about 2 weeks now, so I'm not the right person to give you a pep talk. :) But I love my album, and I'm not giving up. You can do it!! Just get those photos printed and fill it up!

I think Stacy gave you great advice. Just pick up where you are. If you can go back and fill in great. If not - no big deal. Give yourself permission to let it go and move forward. It will feel good to pick it up and getting going again. Then if you are able to go back and do each week, great! If not just do a week here and there or a month in review. It's your project, there are no rules on what is right or wrong!

you CAN do it!!!! Just start on last weeks pages and see how much you enjoy doing it... then slowly work back in time and finish all those other pages. Maybe meanwhile start making notes from the week you haven't made yet. That will sure help to get you going, instead of starting without any notes... I always know that keeps me motivated!

I don't know what to tell you besides think of how awesome it will be to have it done!

On a side note, I've been in a scrapping rut for weeks, and this weekend Chris told me that if I finished 6 pages this weekend, he'd go buy my takeout at my fav restaurant. That motivated me and now I'm back in the groove, LOL. I think he was sick of me saying that I can't get into the scrapping mood.

He's a keeper! :beat

thanks ladies!!
i did attempt to sketch my week 21 yesterday, and collected the photos all in one place. so that's something. I guess it's the first step. I just need to NOT wait two weeks to take the next step! That seems to be my biggest issue - long gaps of time in between working on it. I would love to find a way to be more consistent with it so i don't feel like i'm chasing it all the time.

maybe starting at this week WOULD be a good idea! Especially since we're getting a cute little puppy this weekend... that sounds like perfect inspiration to get some photos printed!

Seriously. Joel would have been like, "Now's a good time to give it up."

And I agree about starting with the most current week. That's how I got back in the groove with mine.

Also, let go of the need to make each week 2 pages. 1 page is enough! And feel free to just print out your photos and put them in the page protectors; later if you want to go back and make it all scrappy, you can, but if you don't, it's still "done."

I was a good 8 weeks behind. I had pics organized by week on my laptop & I had a sheet for each week w/notes for each day but I couldn't believe how fast I got behind. Honestly, now that I hand write my cards (bought Clementine) it goes SO much faster & I enjoy it more. I know many people say start w/the current week & fill in as you go (and I think it's a smart idea) but I just couldn't do it - I'm SO chronological LOL but I've been keeping current w/all my pics & getting them printed & in the book. I also have my notes. So I've been working my way forward with the design & journaling part & I'm close - just finished week 35! You can do it!!

But definitely consider 2 week layouts or a month in review if it's just getting to be too big of a task. The fact that you are doing it and enjoying it is WAY more important than having every single week in the same format.

Good luck!!! :)
