After a year of going back and forth, I ordered an instapot at Amazon. I got the 8 qt duo 7 in 1. I am still a bit nervous using it. I didnt buy any accessories and the more I looked at them the more I got confused. Do I need any of the extras? Like to boil eggs? Help!! Also looking for easy and delicious recipes. Thanks

I just got mine recently too and love it. I’ve made rice, pork tenderloin and seasoned chicken so far. It was easy and fast. Check Pinterest for lots of recipes and tips.

My husband got one last Black Friday and he's used it a ton! I am still intimidated by it though!
I would start by finding a few recipes on Pinterest that are specifically for an instant pot and go from there. Start with a chicken and pasta or rice or something. A lot of blogs will give you good and specific directions :)

Once you get the hang of it, I am sure you will be looking into accessories and such!

I scrunch up aluminum foil to hard boil eggs! I make 8 at a time! love them.
YouTube is your friend! Seriously!

I mainly do vegi's, mashed cauliflower (with frozen cali and ONE potato), no water, 5 minutes high manual.

I have also done chicken for shredding, with seasonings.

I think I have done this more than anything.
I am the world's worst at forgetting to set things out to thaw, and with the instant pot I can have chicken cooked and shredded, ready for whatever, in no time.

We didn't buy any accessories and have never needed them. Here's my personal opinion about Instant Pots. In general I like mine. It's not always faster, depending on the recipe. It takes a while to pressurize and if you use natural release, that can take another 15 minutes. If it's something you can cook with another method in less than 30 minutes, it's not going to be much of a time saver (if that's what you're looking for). With that said, meat is always very tender. We cook ribs, roasts, beans and lots of Indian food in ours.

I've made several things from these two cookbooks:
https://www.amazon.com/Instant-Electric-Pressure-Cooker-Cookbook/dp/1623156122
https://www.amazon.com/dp/1939754542/ref=sspa_dk_detail_2?psc=1

Many times I just google what I want to cook and end up making a hybrid of a bunch of different recipes.

we only used ours once.... granted isn't a proper Insta Pot, ours is called KIng Pro and it didn;t suit us...but I have recipes, will get them to you asap!!!!! missing you Danica!!!!! Huggzz to Mike!!!!

I use mine mainly to make hard-boiled eggs (so fast & easy!), cook chicken and make soup. I did purchase these racks for cooking eggs. I steam about a dozen at a time every couple of days. We eat them like crazy around here.

I cook and shred chicken for other recipes or to put on top of salad.
Then I'll sometimes use it as a crockpot and make soup in it. I like that I can saute in it and then just continue to simmer the soup.

I asked for one for Christmas! If I don't get it, I'm definitely buying one. I've heard marvy things about it, and I'm fully on board!

I use a metal mesh collander I got at Daiso in mine for like $3 to hold my eggs and that's the only real accessory I've used in mine so far! I do boil about 30 eggs at a time every other weekend or so, because everyone eats them like there is no other food, lol... I'm also in the Instant Pot community on Facebook so I get a lot of recipes there. I especially like making pasta with meat by using the saute feature on the meat until it's done, then pouring the pasta on top of that, a jar of sauce on top of that, and a jar full of water around the edges. I set it to 6 minutes and walk away! When it beeps, everyone eats once I stir it up!! :D All the picky eaters will eat it!!

As an experiment, I have recently bought a pampered chef springform pan that is designed to be used in their pressure cooker. It comes with a rack to be able to lift it out of the cooker. I like that! It's here, but I haven't had a chance to use it yet. The idea is to make cheesecake, and then try to make a lasagne!!

I use my IP probably 3-5 times a week depending on the food budget and how clean the kitchen is! My hubby likes the budget small, so when the pot is dirty, he cleans it and leaves it ready to go!! He's a gem!! :D

Huggles!!
