the likes of which I've never known. :dizzy

For, you see, yesterday, I fell off my bike. Because I need to keep up my "12 year old" persona and all, I guess.

I was crossing some railroad tracks that don't exactly go perpendicular to the street, they go off at an angle. Really almost the same direction as the road. As soon as I got on them I thought "hmm this doesn't seem safe" and the next thing I knew I was on the ground. My tire got wedged between the rail and the street and that was that.

A city worker was across the street and came running over (he thought a car had hit me). I insisted I was fine and was going to ride off into the sunset but for his persistence that I needed to see a doctor. The blood gushing down my face might have been a sign to me, but I admit I was a bit dazed.

So anyway, I texted the friend I was meeting (I almost didn't bring my phone!) and she came and got me and took me to urgent care.

4 stitches later, I look like this:

Purty, no? :flirty

Is there a Baby's First Shiner kit in the store?

Angie, I'm so sorry this happened to you! I'm glad you had your phone and a friend close by to pick you up. I would imagine you have a pretty bad headache. I hope the doctor suggested advil or maybe something else to help it.

I hope you start to feel better very soon!

Oh my gosh Angie, that's horrible. I'm glad that there was someone there to make sure you were ok and that you had someone that could come get you and take you to the doctor. Hope it heals fast!

Oh Angie! I was going to open this thread and reply "me too!". But, uh...I don't think mine compares at all to yours. I'm so glad there was someone to help you. Were they worried about concussion at all?

Speedy healing!!

Oh my goodness, Angie! Yeouch! Hope the headache goes away soon and the stitches heal quickly.

Angie!!! Oh no!!! Good thing you brought your phone and so glad you're ok! Take it easy girl! ;)

They didn't mention concussion, so I don't know. But I did pretty much land on my head.

I joked on FB last night that some of the symptoms of concussion include: irritability, lack of focus, and poor motor skills. How would I know the difference? :giggle

Perhaps I've had a concussion all my life!

So sorry to see that happened to you - Ouch! I hope the headache goes away and you are on the mend soon.

A true scrapper at heart though, already thinking.. there must be a kit I can use to scrap about this. :)

Ouch. Poor thing.

If there isn't a first shiner kit, surely you deserve a custom one!

Ouch Angie, no wonder you have a headache! I'm so sorry you got hurt. I hope you feel better really soon. No more riding bikes on railroad tracks!

OH no Angie...I hope you heal up good and your headache hopefully has gone away by now! Have you taken meds for pain?! Take care darling! You are just so active girl!!!

Ouch! Seeing that photo of you reminds me to well of when I ran into the bathroom door helping my son onto the toilet in the middle of night... queasy feeling in the pit of my stomach. Hope you're feeling better soon! xox

Oh my goodness! Sorry to hear you took a spill. Hope you feel better and that your stitches heal quickly.

Oh no, Angie! How awful, so glad you had your phone with you and your friend could pick you up. Hope you feel better soon!

I was about to post here yesterday asking about you. There were a lot of alarming photos on facebook. I hope you're okay and that they give you some meds!

Oh nooooooo! I hope you feel better! If you truly have a headache that is your worst ever you really should be evaluated. Sometimes head injuries can seem minor at first but slowly bleed into the brain. Even if you were examined early on, you should let them know what you are feeling and consider a followup neuro exam!
