I am seriously so upset with CS5 lately. Last night it closed on me when I realized that I hadn't saved. I went and tried to save and it died on me and took my page with it. ALL MY PAGE. :tantrum

That sucks. I've had it freeze on me a few times and I've lost my page. So frustrating!

That's so annoying! I've had that happen before! I know with CS6 it does an auto save and if you're computer crashes or shuts down or whatever, the next time you open PS, it's there.

That's my fav thing about CC! If my computer randomly shuts down, my page is still there when I open it back up! (Well, I haven't tested it a lot, but so far it's always been there!)

Yikes. Is your hard drive fairly full? Sounds like a scratch disk issue.

That's exactly what it is. I have to sit down one day and check my backup so I can move stuff. I lost some stuff from the a compact flash and I think I may have it on an old backup. Of course I can't backup because it is right now over-writing the old backups. LOL!!!

cc saved my tush (well, my lo anyway!) this afternoon!

Yes, I love the CC. I've had that happen twice where the computer froze and had to be shutdown and the page was there when I opened CC back up.

I feel your pain.
I hate it more when my cat sits on my keyboard and close Ps without saving. :thumbsdowns

It was the same for me last week...
But I didn't know it was because of my hard drive... And it's full too !!!

Photoshop? Or Silhouette? They're both big resource hogs but I don't know if Silhouette caches to your hard drive or not. Photoshop does not like full hard drives - and it wants more space on there than seems reasonable, especially when working with large files. If you have an external drive with lots of space you can set it as an additional scratch disk if your internal drive tends to run towards full. A USB hard drive will be a slower method, but it'll save you from crashing.

Little fingers do that too. And the dog has managed to close in one second what it takes me 5 minutes to close.

We tried the external but it was so slow, I guess it's better than crashing.

Right, it takes you 10 mins to save and close it takes them seconds to just close without saving. LOL!!!

:hairpol ... I have so been there. For me though the worst day was when the power surged and my whole computer shut down and I had been crushing on my page (without saving it) :hissy

Dalis, I feel your pain. My PSCS4 did the same thing - went to save and ended up with the blue screen of death - lost everything. It even corrupted the .psd file (which didn't even have anything in it - talk about rude) so I started from scratch the following day and rebuilt it all. :(

Ugh - that's the worst! Best day of my life [may or may not be an exaggeration] the first time this happened after I got CC - such a relief! LOL.. Sorry! :(
