I had delayed doing an album for a 2012 River Cruise we took in November of that year because it was not the best trip we ever took. it brought back a lot of feelings about my father's WWII service in the areas we visited, my husband & I had a major argument and we both..no surprise...got sick. This year I felt i had enough distance to those emotions to scrap it and look at all the good of the trip. I'll never forget the not so good but that doesn't need to be recorded on paper. It's on my heart.

It was an 18 day trip and we both have realized that 10days or so is enough for us even when all goes well! But I persevered and yesterday I got the last 4 pages done! Not all are uploaded for printing but that can happen later as I have the paid credits.

Yesterday was my absolute deadline because today...we're off on a short trip. I feel lighter knowing that one project has been put to bed! Note to self...don't take too many photos of this trip! ;)

oh Maureen! This is just awesome! YOU are motivating me...I have 2 days left...and am gonna find the time to get 'er done! Yahoo to you!! woot

Wahooo!!! I'm so excited for you getting that done. I wish I had that kind of project/willpower to complete a project. :) You are great! Can't wait to hear about your next trip.

I actually just told my mom last week to scrap the bad, too ! It happened, and not everything is always good. But to each their own!

Wow great work. I have a project like that where there was some bad. I need to finish it up because overall it was a great trip.

That's amazing. Even though it was hard (emotionally) & a ton of work, I bet you are so so proud you did it. 62 pages, wow!!!!

Enjoy your new trip and LOL about not taking too many photos. :) Have a great weekend!

Woot! That's awesome! Enjoy your next adventure! :-)

@carilyne My only advice is to get enough distance from 'then' and that can be different for each of us. I just knew when I was ready because I felt differently about the whole thing.

I did limit my photo taking last week too. A lot of the trip was a spiritual retreat so that was pretty easy to put electronics away for a while. Fortunately, no withdrawal symptoms! ;)

Good way to express it -- getting distance. That does explain it. A spiritual retreat sounds nice and relaxing. Hope you enjoyed it and got some rest and healing (if needed).
