not the good kind :p lol

i had my 9 millionth ct scan of the past year today & i'm still feeling the effects of the contrast dye iv injection thingermabobber. it actually made me feel all wooshy this time and it hasn't left yet..

there's no point of this post, i just wanted to whine a bit :p with all the dr appts and scanning of me they should be able to fix me up right by now :p

When I read the title, I was going to suggest that maybe it was the meth.

lol

they stabbed me with it an hour and a half ago.. i would like to stop feeling weird :p

lol @ stabbed. Did they chase you first? Cuz that could count as a run.

Not sure how that would feel, La.....but when they start tinkerin' around with my pacemaker, I can't drive afterwards. It takes about 2 hours for that sick feelin' in my stomach to subside. Hope you're feelin' better. :)

awww, I hope you're fixed up and squared away soon.

And Angie, that made me laugh!

grrrr...doctor's appts, million scans and tingly feelings. Hope you're feeling better soon and I really hope they fix you up soon!

Ok, Angie, your sense of humor gets me every time! :rofl La, I hope you get back to feeling like normal asap!

Ugh! Is this the contrast that makes you feel like you've wet yourself? ;) It usually only lasts about 10-15 minutes for me.

YES! the pee one :p it was a really weird long drawn out reaction. I was dizzy for hours after. :/ I'm glad it's over :p it's difficult to say if i had this reaction the other 800 cts bc that's when my body was not happy. Bleh.
Anything is better than the mri tube though :p

La, that's kind of weird. Aside from doing x-rays I also do CT scans and actually administer this stuff and stick people with IV's for a living in the CT department and I don't think I've ever had anyone mention that they still felt the warm feeling waaaay after the exam was done. What kind of CT did you have if you don't mind my asking?

This is what I normally tell my patients before they sign the consent form...
You may get a warm feeling like a hot flash through your body, you may also get a metallic taste at the back of your throat you may also feel a warmth at your bladder like you've peed, but you won't... ;)

But seeing as you've had so many, I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you started getting hives then I would be worried. Some people just react to it differently that others. I had a patient last week who vomits after every time we inject. Thankfully it's usually after we're done the scan...

I hope you're feeling better soon! :)

it was def way weird renee.. the dizzy and pukey even lasted longer than the over extended warm feeling visit.. it def lasted longer than i expected based on what ive had told to me all the times ive had one.. no hives though.. so i figure i'm fine ^_^ they're not going to let me have another ctscan for a long time haha so i'm good for a while.

Eek! Glad you are better...that does not sound like a good feeling at all. Atleast you do not have to have another for awhile.

That is an awful feeling!

And Angie - I love you! You crack me up!
