No seriously, I just reformatted my macbook and updated to that mojave so it would stop asking me. Stupidly, all my bookmarks are now gone. I thought they were synced with google chrome. Noooope. I got some back but they are ALL OLD ones. Some never change like TLP and facebook. But I'm wondering how you guys manage bookmarks and if you know anything about syncing them to google. I know it doesn't hurt to start over. The important ones can be found again easily but man, that was a major oops. I should have backed them up just for safety sake. I did everything else.

You did get my attention, Kat!! I don't think I've ever lost all of my bookmarks, but I have way too many, anyway. LOL I guess I haven't lost mine, because I've always used Google. I'm surprised you can't find them on Google.

Have you tried "googling" to find out if you can find them? (Pun intended haha)

I cannot help with your question about syncing but I think I need to do a tidy up of all my bookmarks as I have way too many and a lot I never visit those sites anymore.

Yep, that was an attention grabbing title! But I click on just about every new thread that ever appears here anyway.

I've been using Mac's Safari browser pretty much exclusively and save some webpages in Favorites. Those get automatically synced to the cloud and I can see them in Safari on my phone too. Safari's really good with keeping a History of where I've been before too, so I barely have to type anything in the URL box before it pops up with helpful suggestions for me to click on.

I guess at some point my google account stopped syncing favorites. I have no idea what I have and don't have. I feel a lot lighter though. lol.
I organized what I had and deleted duplicates. Aside from that I guess they'll come up as they do.
At least I am not the only one who was hoarding bookmarks.

I constantly hoard bookmarks. Mine are synced through Firefox. I do have a few on Google Chrome, but I don't use it often, and I have to remember to log in to sync them. Which is a crap shoot! So....I try to stick to bookmarking in Firefox.

Does Timemachine have them? I know when I let Windows back up my computer it saved that file. Oh, and BackBlaze saves it for me now.

You know, I do have time machine, but how would I find out if there are a folder of bookmark backups? I have no idea how to use it. I don't want to restore a back up. I had a ton of stuff on there I didn't want. I have run a new back up but I think it keeps several. Hmmmm. This is a good thought if I could find bookmarks on there.

It did keep my passwords but not my saved credit card or addresses. Isn't that so odd? The bookmarks were really old.

oh she's pretty. we rescued a dog once that looked very similar and found her a wonderful home. I've had a variety of doggie personalities in my home (mostly cocker spaniels) but my two now are a mix of circus crazy and hooligans that love to snuggle on the couch. lol.
