i broke my car :[

ugh! i'm so aggravated! I've been having a crappy week and a half. my hematologist way over adjusted my meds so i've been pukey and dizzy and dying.. etc. unpleasant. I finally start feeling better.. go out. .and break my car on the highway :p

thankfully the new boy was with me and also has AAA ... :p otherwise. ugh. Even then we had a mini battle on our hands because apparently it's "against regulation" to put an 8 year old in a tow truck. There was lots of back and forth arguing with AAA as the first tow truck guy wouldn't come...So we were scrambling trying to call people for a ride and getting NO WHERE as it was like midnight. The local police showed up while we were waiting for a tow and offered to drive us to the ymca (not anywhere close to either of our houses).. -.- I was in mega panic mode.. because wth. Thankfully however our 2nd tow truck man was the most amazing tow truck driver on the planet.. He pulled up.. looked at me and connor .. and immediately told us to get in the truck LOL. he not only towed the car but then turned around and drove us to the boyfriends house in the complete opposite direction. he kept saying dudes.. i have kids.. i was NOT about to leave you guys .. i understand.
YAY.

He took a look at the car too.. said it shouldn't be too bad hopefully-- i broke the .. throttle.. or.. accelerator.. or.. part of the gas peddle.. something, i don't know. I just know that it popped and then .. nothing LOL. he and jacob had man talk over the car while i stayed in the warm truck :p i just know something broke.. and that i'm lucky i didn't get smashed into by a drunk driver as i broke down in the most awful place ever. thankfully at least i was in the right lane so i drifted over to the side.

oye.
and monday's a holiday .. and my mechanic is closed today.. so maybe i'll get my car back tuesday :p i'm borrowing the boys car today so i can get my errands and so forth done while he's at work. so i'm not totally screwed. (ps. he's a life saviour. obviously :p i would have been screwed had he not been with me.)

Oh geez. I'm glad the amazing tow truck driver came! Hopefully it won't cost too much to get whatever is broken fixed. :) And yayness for the new boy having AAA! ;)
 
Ee. What an adventure. I hope the car is an easy fix and you get it done and back Tuesday. New guy gets a gold star for sure!
 
Thank goodness that tow truck driver was nice! I'm glad your bf was with you and you and Connor didn't have to go through this alone. I hope your car feels better soon and the repairs are cheap! Hang in there!
 
I hate car troubles... I'm so glad you weren't alone, but had your boys with you. Yay for tow truck men who act and get stuff done, so that you guys were able to get the car to a mechanic, and not least, were able to get home safely. Seriously...ymca? Gawd, thanks a lot!?

I am glad everything turned out okay with the second tow-truck driver. Maybe signing up for AAA yourself would be a good move, too?

mine just expired a few months ago.. and i put it on the list of "not crucial" as funds have been low :p pfft. lol not crucial my butt.
 
what a story :D BUT glad you all made it out okay!!! Sounds like the tow truck driver saved the day that day...and your sweetheart today! :)

I once had car trouble on the highway when Lina was not even a year old!! It was winter, so cold and very dark being only 18.00's... There was a traffic jam and this pipe from the cooling system broke... The AAA was busy and would take them an hour! and with the traffic, it would also take my DH about an hour!! It took about 100 cars (not kidding), all driving about 10km an hour, and staring at me, holding the baby to keep her warm and finally after about 20 freakin' s minutes... A guy pulled over and asked where he could take us! I left everything but my purse in the car and he took us to the closest gasstation, where my luv was waiting for us. I was soooooo thakful and yes the guy also just had a baby and wouldn't want his wife in the same position!! I send him flowers and a big thank you note about a week later... The guy even got late to teach night-school...was soooo thankful!!! BUT geeeesh some people!! I would never ever leave a woman with a baby or a kid in the freezing, dark cold stand beside the freakin highway and stare at her...WTF!?!

oh good grief! i'm glad someone finally stopped to help you! lol though i react the opposite.. BF was outside the car doing who knows what.. and after maybe 40 minutes of waiting another car pulled up in front of me.. i locked all the doors LOL they sat there for a minute but i think they finally saw him and figured i was ok ..so they took off. I don't trust people :p lol
 
Yikes! I'm glad he was with you and that you finally found a kind soul to help you out!
 
Oh boy what a hassle! Thank goodness your man was with you and you could stay in the warm truck :)
 
Yeesh! Glad everything turned out ok! Hopefully the damages (both to the car and your wallet) aren't too bad.

That's crazy about the tow truck. I just had my car towed yesterday and my 2 year old and 4 year old came in the truck with me. And when I totaled my car back in 2009 my daughter (then 14 months old) came in the tow with my husband and I...and we drove onto a military base and even the police at the gate didn't say anything.
 
Oh my goodness, La. Your life is just one big adventure! You need to start writing an autobiography. So glad this chapter had a happy ending!
