While I love and adore Artisan 5, I'm getting rather peeved at Forever's (the company) business practices and the way they've been strong-arming designers not to carry .page files in their stores unless they want to be sued. Yup. I'm not the only one who feels this way, either. So, I just bit the bullet and purchased PSE 18! What did I just get myself into? :imok

:lol

We are here to support you along the learning journey!

Yeah! I'm excited for you to be able to use styles and actions!
Well, expect a LOT of mistakes! haha!!!

You will love it! And soon you'll want PS ;)
I must admit that I don't really know the difference between the two! As you can see I have a lot to learn...

It should be fairly easy to learn, there is so much support for both PS and PSE. Have fun with it!

I love PSE, @QuiltyMom - so much so that I haven't attempted the move to PS CC yet.
Me too! I’ve been a PSE user for about 10 years now. I tried PS once, and ended up back at PSE! I think it does what I need it to do, so no sense in complicating things I guess.
There’s definitely a learning curve, but I know you’ll enjoy it once you get the hang of it!

They switched from numbering them to naming them after the year after release. So, instead of being PSE 16, it's 18 for 2018.

Ah ha! That's logical. And easier to remember. Unlike the Mac operating systems. Lion, Mountain Lion, Yosemite, El Capitan . . . I can never remember which one I had or even what I currently have.

I only upgraded from PSE to PSCC because there was talk about Lightroom becoming CC only and I didn't want to be caught having to make up my mind suddenly when that happened. So I decided to try it out. I ended up deciding CC was worth it. But I wouldn't push anyone to switch. I was perfectly happy with PSE and my pages haven't improved since switching to PS. It's just that I have more conveniences and options now. Actually, it has been about 3 years I've had PSCC now, so I don't even know how much PSE has improved and gotten even more like PS. I know they were always adding something awesome every year when I used it. Like text on a path. I upgraded that year! I started with PSE6 and ended with PSE10 or 11, and only got one in the middle. I tend to use things for a long time; not upgrade frequently.

Jan, I was a Storybook Creater user for many years. I switched to PSE back when Creative Memories went bankrupt. I've never looked back! Now I use PSCC, but you will be able to do everything you need in PSE. Learning PSE was a bit of a curve, but I just kept telling myself that if I could learn Artisan software that I could learn PSE. You'll be a pro in no time.

I must admit that I don't really know the difference between the two! As you can see I have a lot to learn...
No worries! PSCC has a few more options, like easier to warp shadows. Honestly, I only switched from PSE because of Lightroom. Otherwise, I found PSE was plenty good enough! You'll be fine with it!

Woo Hoo Jan! There is a learning curve. Don't stress, and when you get stuck, ask here! Trust me... way better than stressing for hours. Be patient with yourself to learn!

I’ve always have had a version of PSE currently it is 15 there are alot of YouTube videos you can watch if you learn better by watching. I know I do. But if you wonder about anything just ask!!
