Our air is very dry so we often use humidifiers in bedrooms in our home. Well, last night my son kicked his humidifier off his desk in his sleep lol it broke and spilled a gallon of water all over his floor which is not water safe so we rushed to wipe it all up.

Now, I’m in the market for a new humidifier. Do you have any you recommend? I prefer one that uses distilled water and has a large area for refilling so I’m not trying to pour into a tiny hole.

Feel free to share any crazy sleep stories too lol it was a long night.

We have lots of spells of extremely dry air, but I no longer have a humidifier. We had one previously, but making sure to keep it clean was kind of a pain, so I let it go.

I agree it’s a pain to clean them. I didn’t realize how dirty my son’s was until I was picking up the pieces last night.

My friend is a pulmonologist and he basically said that there are no good humidifiers since you can't keep them clean so they just spew particles into the air. I gave up too. It is really good that you use distilled water but you're still supposed to wash them every.single.day to prevent mold from getting distributed into the air.

My son has one that we only really use when he's sick- but it's just a good old cheap one from walmart. We do clean it when we are using it every single night though. It's a pain for sure. We're really dry too (You're in Idaho right? We're in eastern WA.) I've gotten to the point where I tell the kids to not turn on the fan when they shower & to crack the door so some of that steamy moisture goes throughout our house! lol

Good to know!

I never thought about spreading the steam from the shower! Good idea!
