How many hours a day do your kids watch TV? I just realized that while my mom was visiting for the last 7 days my son has watched 0 hrs of TV. Normally, he watches at least 1 hour a day while I try to get things done. You know, like shower. But, now I am wondering if I tried harder if I could have him watch less. How much TV do your kiddos watch?

B usually watches an hour or so in the a.m. while I get breakfast ready and get us all dressed and then a another hour or two in the evenings to wind down before bed. It's the only way I can get him to calm down enough to even lay down. I make up for it by reading at least 3 or 4 books before bed. :giggle But, Noah...forget about it! I can't get that kid to watch TV even if I strap him to his chair! LOL! He reminds me of a pinball! LOL!

I'm not much of a TV person at all, mostly because I'm too much of a multi-tasker to sit down and watch. We do family movie night and the TV is on a little bit after baths to transition into quiet bedtime. That's about it...

I honestly couldn't tell you. It is on a lot but mainly for the noise. You rarely see our kids actually watching it.

But there is a show called "In The Night Garden" that we watch together every night before bed.
My son will turn 2 in Oct. :)

what she said lol, mine is automatically put on in the morning just for back ground dont think anyone actually watches it

They watch about 15 minutes in the morning while eating breakfast and then they get to watch one PBS show at daycare each day. They usually pick Wild Kratts.

We'll do a movie night on the weekends too. But they are usually busy with other stuff and don't even ask for tv at home anymore. When they were younger they watched more though. They are 5 and 7 now.

I don't remember exactly how much. I think when my boys were small they watched a few hours a day. We didn't have video games or computers though (nothing hand held either till they were older). I remember putting them down for naps, and then I'd turn on a soap opera or something...my guilty pleasure! It wasn't on most of the day though, and it still isn't to this day. If I do turn it on (maybe to watch the news or something), I end up getting up to do other things and forget that it's even on. I have a hard time sitting down and watching tv.

Dont have little ones but my teenage son doesnt really watch TV, he rather listen to his music thingy. and he draws and goes to FB. DH mostly watches TV in the evening to wind down from work.

It totally depends on the day....sometimes our TV isn't on at all in a given day and sometimes it seems like it isn't off all day. I've never really dictated how much TV my daughter can watch, but we only have one TV hooked up (we put a small one in her room when we moved here 6 mos ago but it's never been hooked up...still trying to decide if it's something we want to do or not) so that right there limits it in a way. I would say on average though she probably watches about 3-4 hours a day when we're not doing school work..(probably closer to 2 when we are)...which seems excessive but like many of you she uses it a lot for background noise while she's working on a project...something she learned from me since I tend to knit or cross stitch while watching TV.
