deal with photo printing for PL? I have no printer and take sooooo many photos it is overwhelming to get them done. I have a bunch of stuff ready to put in my inserts but no photos. :tantrum It is so frustrating! I would love to hear how you all do it. Maybe that will kick start me out of my rut and into PL heaven. :heartlub TIA

Thanks to a little enabling by Laura, I have a Selphy CP800..the CP900 is out now and is wireless...it's definitely not the cheapest option...$80.00 for the printer and then about 27 cents a print if you buy the 3 pack of refill inks and papers off of amazon, but there is definitely something to be said for the convenience of it.

You could also look at getting an all in one printer and some 4x6 photo paper. I used an HP all in one for years to print photos and loved it. But I wasn't printing nearly as many photos at home before I started PL. One of the reasons that I like the Selphy is because I always know how many photos I can print with the ink and paper I have on hand.

Yep...get a Selphy. I'm planning to as soon as hubby is employed again. I have an all in one printer and while the journal cards I print look just fine, it just doesn't seem to do that well for photos.

I have a Canon Pixma MG5320 and I print everything on it. The photos turn out really awesome and I print all my hybrid stuff on it too. Digi elements, journal cards, everything. It has a rear paper feed tray, so you can feed the 4x6 photo paper in there and just print a bunch of photos. You can also print directly onto 3x4 journal cards (like the blank and grid ones from Becky Higgins). It is more expensive than getting photos printed at a photo place, but I love the convenience of printing whenever I want. AND I actually think the photo quality is better than anywhere else I had photos printed!

I have an all in one printer + scanner by HP, it's 5+ years old but it prints just fine. I love that it has a 4x6 photo paper slot in addition to letter paper so I can use the Canon 4x6 paper in it.

I bought the Selphy last year and the photos are really good. It's a cute little printer! But my problem is that the photos are not exact 4x6, they are smaller than the BH Journaling Cards and don't really fit in the Page Protector's Pockets and I don't like this...

I'm just doing mine digitally. I have a printer but it is a major PIA and prints off-color much of the time because I hooked it up to a continuous ink system to save money. Now it is useless for everything except document printing.

I also have a Canon PIXMA (mine is the MG5220) and the photos are amazing on it. I've never figured out the cost-per-print on it because I don't want to know. I imagine it's not competitive with a photo lab.

Persnickety Prints will also print your Project Life photos (and cards) for you. They'll even round the corners for you, if you do the rounded corners.

i've mostly printed mine at home on my canon pixma.

BUT...

If I don't have ink or whatever (or a printer, in your case), what I do is set up a PRINT folder in my PL folder. As I get a photo prepped to print, I save as PrintSizeWeek#Photo# in my PRINT folder. Then I do a mass upload to Snapfish and print to a local store where I can pick them up in an hour. It really is cheaper that way when I consider the cost of ink and photo paper. And I like that I can pick up in an hour, so I don't feel like there's a major lag to kill my mojo. it works pretty well.
